Ways to get addmission here (for engineering- UIET) are: 1. Jee mains- 4 yr. Degree starting from 1st year to 4th 2. PUMEET/PULEET- 3 year degree. 1+3 if you migrate from other College after your 1st year is complete I.e. direct 2nd year entry (PUMEET). 3 year if you come from diploma background (PULEET). For other department like law and mca, there are university exams conducted which I'm unaware of. Apptox closing rank of year 2023 (my year) CSE- 110000 IT- 144000 ECE- 180000 Mech- 240000 For general category. Good or I would say best thing is that you are getting a govt. College that to Panjab University at this rank. Bad aspect is that it is cut off from the outside world and you might feel that campus is small but I guess it's enough.
Here 3 exams are conducted every semester. 2 mid sem and 1 final/end sem. Mid sem exams are of 30 marks and question paper is set by UIETH professors themselves, who teach you. Best of two is considered in marksheet/result sheet. Final paper is of 50 marks which comes from PU Chandigarh. Every semester you need to pay a exam fee of 3600. CSE and IT branch is similar. IT branch is the most chill branch. There's no strict attendance and friendly facilities. You get a lot of time and minimum distraction for personal growth/other exam preparation here. Other branches are good aswell. At the end of degree, almost every student has a placement offer in their hands.
Companies usually take candidates for a period of 6 month as training and then, based on your performance l, they offer you a ppo.
Here, placements in technical domain is good but core placements like in ece and mechanical is less. In technical, almost every candidate has a offer letter at the end of placement season. Average package ranges from 4.5-6. where minimum is 4 I guess and highest on campus is 13.5. In 2024, highest off campus was 24 LPA placed at Cisco.
One year fee is 117000 approx which is to be paid in two installments. 1- july. Around 75000 2- nov. Remaining 40000 If you are 1st year student, first installment of 40000 is already paid when you lock you seat during councelling, second installment then becomes 75000 in your first year. For rest of the years, it's same for all as mentioned above. There are various scholarships other than what institute provides like state governments, reliance, tata etc. In College, you can get financial assistance if you have quota like ews, single parent, single girl child etc. Also there are subsidies for backward caste students in exam form, hostel fees etc
There's an annual fest named Aqueitas (law+cultural) which is of 3 4 days. There used to be a techno cultural fest(ANANT) too before Covid but since 2020, it hasn't been conducted. These are two large level fests conducted here in the month of Feb usually. Library is good, you'll find all books in your syllabus over there, not sure about other... We also have annual sports meet which goes on for 3 4 days consisting of various sports and athletic events. There are various clubs and societies like Technical society DCULT- dance society Vaarta- communication Shor- drama club Music club as well
Other than govt. Hostel, you also have option for private hostel(attached bathroom) and PGs. Hostel rooms are okay, as expected from hostel. Mess food is better than what we think of but still just eatable. Every sem, applications are opened for hostel allotment (govt.). Hostel fees are around 17000 Mess- 45-50/diet lunch and dinner + extra if you eat something else. PG here offer better rooms and bathrooms which range from 2000-3000 per month. PGs are located just beside the college at a walking distance.

As the course is designed for pharmaceutical industry so the companies like mankind, sunpharma, macloid, overseas etc. Are top recruiters. The average package is 3-3.5 lakh per annum and highest goes upto 4lpa. As after masters most of the students goes for higher studies and teaching so the placement rate is low.
Overall Placement rate is about 60 to 70 percent for every branches . Recruiters provided descent opportunites to the students. Above 7 CGPA students get eligible. Some recruiter are Infosys, TCS, wipro, Siemens etc
College doesn't keep any eligibility criteria for placement it depends on the company which came for recruitment and yea if you had scored around 8+ cgpa you are eligible for every company Regularly company which come for recruiting students are infosys, tcs ,jsw , cognizant, Capgemini,L&T,tata steel etc Average package is 4LPA and highest package is around 55 LPA Around 75-80 percent students get placed in the college Some of the branches like instrumentation and control engineering and mechanical engineering have around 98-100% placement in the previous year
Since the college comes under an institution it opens the gate for various company and even those which just require a graduation degree instead of a specific field. Cadila Lupin etc visits every year. Good 60 to 70 students gets placed.
The placement are good but there are a lot of criterias for the placement and the college faculties force us to take the placement in the development roles to show that the college has 100% placement. There are less companies for the consultancy or data based jobs. The college doesn't provide any on campus intership. They provide intership in the college Startups and they pay very very less and they exploit the interns as lot. I got only 500 rupees for doing 1 month internship and working 6 hours a week.
