- I really like the campus life here, as it is very vibrant. And many cultural activities are conducted here occasionally
- I also like the supporting nature of the faculties here.
Dislikes
- The one thing that most of the students suffer is language barrier, as most of the students here are form bihar and jharkhand, they generally don't understand Bangla language, that is spoken by most of the staff here
Remarks :
The main factor that made me choose this college was , It is close to my hometown and it is a well-known college. I got admitted here through taking the WBJEE . Then I got counselled here. I didn't face any interviews or Group discussions to get admitted here.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course because It falls in my interest and this course has a rising trend. The course curriculum for the 1st year is same for all the btech. Courses. The academics of this college is okayish. Our faculties here are just nice and friendly. There is a cliched thought in students that professors in the college don't care about how you are doing in your studies, but one thing I liked the most here is that, the faculties really care about the students and help as a lot! The exams here are not timely right now as the college became Autonomous. Earlier it was under MAKAUT. The difficulty of exams here is high.
Internships Opportunities :
No , I haven't opted for any internships, As I am in the first year. But, my seniors have got many internship. Most of them are in NIT Durgapur and companies like Accenture, Infosys, etc. And local companies.
Placement Experience :
The placements here is not that good, If you don't perform good in all the semesters, the chances of placement is very less. But, my course has good placements. For placements you should not get failed in any of the examinations.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The Tuition fees for the 1st semester is Rs. 55000, The Development fee is 8250 , admission fee is 10000, 5000 of caution fees is also taken, The total student registration fees is Rs. 3700, They also charge you Rs.6100 for two set of uniform So for the 1st year the total fees is Rs. 156200. For the 2nd, 3rd and 4th year the total fees is Rs. 131400. The Complete course fees is Rs.550400. You can get admitted here with state wise schemes like WBSCC, BSCC, etc Over the years the tution fees for Btech. Courses is increasing gradually.
Campus Life :
The campus life here is just lit! Our campus has its own NCC wing that falls under 22 bengal unit. We also have many sports clubs here. In the morning you can see many students going for karate and NCC practices. In the evening football and cricket matches are conducted. The seniors here are also nice, they interact and help you aswell. But, you should respect them aswell. The annual sports day and the cultural fest ( Zeal) occur in the month of January, The Tech Fest ( Horizon) occurs in February. As of now the Annual Sports Fest is on 27th and 28th Jan , after that the cultural fest ie.Zeal 2k25 is on 30th and 31th January. The Tech fest (Horizon 2k25) is on 27th and 28th. The availability of books in the library is good, The classroom for 1st year students is okayish, but from 2nd year the rooms are really great! We have many clubs here, for computing professionals, there is ACM, Cybersleuths , etc. Every dept has its own cultural club. The Main cultural club here is GENESIS.
Hostel Facilities :
We have 4 hostels here, 2 for boys ie Chittaranjan Boys hostel for 1st year students and Satyen bose hall of residence for boys, for 2nd , 3rd and 4th year students. 2 for girls ie. Nivedita girls Hostel for 1st and 4th year students and Mother teresa hall of residence for 2nd and 4th year students. The mess here is great, the menu keeps on changing and the food is great. The hostel security is also good. For registration you just need basic documentation.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
Jalpaiguri Institute of technology good collage but fees are high

For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.

Placement Experience :
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
