The summary of my college life
Remarks :
My parents actually insisted me to study in this college since it is the first commerce college in the entire city. So it has a reputation for being the first and the best commerce college for commerce college in the entire northeastern region. The good aspect of this college is that it has reputation and the college never fails to maintain this reputation. They maintain a standard and students trust them. The bad aspect is that they overlook some things that needs more attention. The students must pass 12th exam with 70% score and above to be eligible to study in the college. They publish a merit list for the students whose percentage is above 70% and accordingly students are admitted to the college. The cut off percentage is 70% and above. No extra exams are conducted to take admission in the college. They just admit students based on the students 12th board performance.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Actually I wanted to have this degree. That's why I chose this course. And my parents also insisted me to be graduated so that it can help me in the future. The faculty is also highly qualified and their teaching method is great. They explain the chapters thoroughly and even take revisions before the exams. They are very approachable and take great care of the students regarding study. We have even doubt clearing sessions after the classes which helps the students a lot to understand the chapters properly. The term exams are taken 2 months before every final sem exams. And in the whole year total 2 term exams are conducted. The exams are conducted in an average level., that is neither too difficult, nor too easy. It helps every students to pass the exams.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Per year I'm paying 11000 for this course. The tuition fees is 5000, there is no caution fees, registration fees is 500, admission fees is 4500, development fees is 500, lab fees is 300, and there is no other compulsory charges during the course completion. My batchmates are paying a different amount according to their financial status. There is a scheme called fee waiver which reliefs students whose parental income is below 2 lakhs. No amounts of scholarships or financial aid are available for students.
Campus Life :
My life in this campus is just good. They conduct freshers every year in the month of august or September for the newcomers. Also in the month of january or february every year they conduct annual college week for the students, and in the last day of the college week they conduct cultural night. I don't have a great knowledge regarding the availability of books and journals in the library since I visit there rarely. They provide fans, tubelights and air conditioners in every classroom for the students so that the students feel comfortable to study during the summer days. The campus provides football, badminton, cricket and many more sports. It also have a gym for the students so that they can maintain a healthy and fit physique. We have whatsApp groups, and a college website for the students run by the students union of the college.

Good-moderate faculty but maintenance of every other thing is very much not on time The authority doesn’t seem to be concerned about the students and delays every work and at the last moment you will be running around .

Dream Campus, Not-So-Dream Jobs

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

There are 100% internship in Bsc agriculture are also good the average packages 3 to 4 LPA the highest package is 12 LPA percentage of students getting placements are about 70 - 80% the eligibility criteria depends upon the performance of the student on its practical work and its CGPA

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

I forever had a dream of starting a business by myself as I come from a business background I also wanted to help my father in his work , I wanted to grow my father's business by just putting technical efforts so this is the reason I chooses commerce Teachers are of very friendly nature and helpful If you attend regular college you won't face any difficulties in exams
Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.

I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
