Gauhati Commerce College is one of the best college in North East, each year one, two student always tops therefore attract me to take admission also they are culturally very active. Admission is fully merit based and each year 80% is our cut off . Only thing is our college field is not in a good conditions which reduce overall experience level.
Bachelor of Commerce is entry gate of commerce and i love maintaining Accounts that's why attracts me to select the course. All the faculty members are experienced and knowledgeable with good teaching level. Teachers are very kind. We have 6 Semester and in each semester 2 exams where one is sessional exam with 30 marks and another which is semester exam 100 marks. We have to finish this 2 exam within 6 months it means per semester. Difficulty level is decent.
No, I won't opted any internship. Various companies campaigns in the college but only one or two companies are there who is genuine and pays the student that's why we are waiting for better opportunity who hels to builds us.
After completing the course, we are eligible to give entrance exams and other organizations who want to hire us. I'll select Chartered Accountant course after graduation and it is my dream to become a Chartered Accountant.
We pay 11,12000 as a admission fees and it will not increased and fixed including books and have Ishan Uday Scholarship where we get 240000 in 3 year. Other scholarships are also available which is based of categories like OBC SC, ST etc
Annual College Week is held in february month of each year where various competition are organize by students union. We have library where all the necessary books are available for students and in Classroom we have Air-condition in every room. Field is not in a good condition primarily students play cricket and football. And various events organise like art and craft, signing competitions, dance competition, poetry competition etc
Hostel are the cheerleaders, protectors and they are like union. They have own rules and separate identity in the college. If you join hostel then no can dare to touch you. Hostel registration is fully merit based.

Good-moderate faculty but maintenance of every other thing is very much not on time The authority doesn’t seem to be concerned about the students and delays every work and at the last moment you will be running around .
While the college does not guarantee 100% corporate placement, it facilitates campus interviews and internships. Companies like Amazon, Flipkart, and Tata have rec recruited or offered internships to a percentage of students.
There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My plans after my degree is to get a job in electronic domain while also focusing on my photography and editing Passion Check my work on insta sodaa.edits
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.
There are 100% internship in Bsc agriculture are also good the average packages 3 to 4 LPA the highest package is 12 LPA percentage of students getting placements are about 70 - 80% the eligibility criteria depends upon the performance of the student on its practical work and its CGPA
The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low. That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled. And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.
I forever had a dream of starting a business by myself as I come from a business background I also wanted to help my father in his work , I wanted to grow my father's business by just putting technical efforts so this is the reason I chooses commerce Teachers are of very friendly nature and helpful If you attend regular college you won't face any difficulties in exams
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.
You must get more than 7 CGPA to sit in the placement. TCS, L&T, Jacobs etc and the highest package is around 21 LPA around 15% are placed every year.Iwill be doing PHd in IIT after getting my degree.
I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
