- Campus is very big and beautiful with 675 acres of landmass.
- College used most of the electricity which is produced on college itself.
Dislikes
- Campus is very far from the main town. Which is difficult.
- College infrastructure needs and update specially hostels
Remarks :
This is one of the best nits with 7 rank in nits and overall 40 rank. It is institute of national importance so I always wanted to study here. One should qualify jee mains with a good parcentile and seat on jossaa counsel.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I didn't opt for electrical engineering but got it in my jossaa counselling. Faculties are well qualified most of them are having PhDs from foreign or iits. Midsem examination with 30 marks, end sem examination with 50 marks and 10 marks minor exam is there with 10 marks internal.
Internships Opportunities :
No I havent done internship yet. One should do internship before 8th sem. Many companies provide internaship opportunities along with a good amount of stipend such as Google microsoft amazon tata etc.
Placement Experience :
Most of the companies come in nits for placements. 6.5 cgpa and no active Backlog is the criteria set by maximum of the companies. Microsoft google amazon oracle are the companies that visit along with multiple psus.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
11000 per semester is the semester fees. It's is different based on caste and income. For ews/sc/st it is 11000 per sem. 22500 is hostel fees which everyone has to pay no matter what the caste is. NSP scholarship,simens scholarship,ongc scholarship are there
Campus Life :
Incand and tecno are the main fest of nits. Incand is on February and tecno is on October. Library is well equipped and having most of the required books. Sports complex is there and seprate cricket and football ground.
Hostel Facilities :
Yes I opted for hostel. Hostel mess is average not good not bad. 22500 has to be pay for hostel seat per sem. Hostel registration is done along with the regular semester registration. Rented of and rooms are available within the 10 km radius.

Good-moderate faculty but maintenance of every other thing is very much not on time The authority doesn’t seem to be concerned about the students and delays every work and at the last moment you will be running around .

Dream Campus, Not-So-Dream Jobs

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My plans after my degree is to get a job in electronic domain while also focusing on my photography and editing Passion Check my work on insta sodaa.edits
My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

There are 100% internship in Bsc agriculture are also good the average packages 3 to 4 LPA the highest package is 12 LPA percentage of students getting placements are about 70 - 80% the eligibility criteria depends upon the performance of the student on its practical work and its CGPA

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.

I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
