- The thing I like most about my college is the amazing faculty. When it comes to education, it’s one of the best places to be in.
- Our campus, though small, is really peaceful, no ragging, no bullying. It’s great!
- We have plenty of study resources, including the college library, online archive, class library, and even materials provided by our teachers.
- The campus is in close proximity to the railway station and the main road, making it easy to commute.
Dislikes
- The thing I dislike most is while our teachers are great some of the office stuffs are really rude.
- The second thing as I previously mentioned, our campus is small , though in devolopment and might expand in future for now it's quite small.
Remarks :
I chose this college mainly because of its location , it's very easy and convenient to travel to. The teachers here are great, I’d say they are some of the most educated and knowledgeable faculty members. They always try to help students in every way possible. In terms of education, I’d rate our college 10/10. I don’t know the exact cut-off, but in high school, I had decent marks. I scored 86 in English, so that might have helped with my admission not entirely sure, though. The only downside is that our college is relatively small. However, there is plenty of space for development, and construction is already underway. I believe the campus will expand even more in the future.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The faculty here is fantastic. One of our professors has a PhD in Dalit Literature, and another has an MPhil she’s brilliant and an amazing teacher. We also have two SACT-II professors, and honestly, they’re just as great, both as teachers and as people. We have smart classrooms, a class library, and both online and offline classes. Our professors provide study materials and use different teaching methods, sometimes even making students act as teachers. They use PPTs, live demonstrations, and movies related to our syllabus or English literature in general. We can always ask them if we don’t understand something. Class tests are tough, but if you pay attention in class, they become much easier. Plus, we also get special lectures from guest professors from other colleges, which is pretty cool!
Placement Experience :
I’m not currently aware of any official placement programs, but many of our seniors have secured government positions and jobs in the private sector , I know this because I met some of them at our departmental fest. There are also frequent job-related conventions on campus. I haven’t participated in an internship yet, but our teachers told us that we’ll get the opportunity in the near future, just like our seniors did. Plus, I have a few friends from other departments who are already interning.after finishing the course I wanna pursue a career in teaching.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees vary each year, so I’m not sure of the total amount. I paid Rs2,367 as admission fees, and after that, there’s an exam fee for each semester Rs400 for the first semester, Rs1,365 for the second, ?882 for third-semester admission, and Rs1,530 for the third-semester exam. Admissions happen once a year, while semester exams are twice a year, and fees depend on subject combinations. For instance, the third-semester exam fee is Rs860 for B.A. Honours (simple), Rs1,560 for those with Zoology or Botany as IDC, Rs1,530 for Geography as IDC (which I personally paid, as a student with provisional status), Rs1,660 for B.Com. Honours, rs786 for B.A. General, Rs1,790 for B.Sc. General, and Rs1,975 (with provisional) or Rs2,962 (without provisional) for Geography Honours. I received the Aikyashree scholarship in my first year, getting Rs12,000, and have recently applied for it again in my second year. There are also other government scholarships available for students.
Campus Life :
We have an annual freshers’ fest around December or January, but what’s even more special is the English Literature departmental gathering, where we welcome freshers and bid farewell to the final-year batch with music, dance, food, decorations, and recitations, it feels like a private fest for an exclusive club. For books, we have a college library, a class library, and an online library with thousands of journals and resources. I even borrow books from my teachers sometimes. Though our college is small, it competes with top institutions in education and amenities. We have clean classrooms, an annual sports event, and faculty student cricket and football matches. There are also clubs for drama, creativity, yoga, and more. One of my favorite things is our yearly college magazine and the Wall Magazine from the English Literature department, which are absolutely fabulous, with both faculty and students contributing!

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
