Likes
- The faculty especially for my course is really experienced and teaches really good, with expertise in various domains of sociology. They also help with research and other projects are very approachable outside class.
- The opportunities and exposure provided by college, pushes one out of their comfort zone to grow and become more confident, experience various things and grow.
Dislikes
- I feel infrastructure could have been better as in summers - old building rooms get cramped and some rooms have only two fans which are quite old. It becomes really difficult.
- It can get quite hectic sometimes, especially after NEP new subjects such as SEC, VAC AND AEC have been introduced- creating unneccesary burden and shifting attention away from core papers.
Remarks :
LSR really has a good reputation, strong alumni network and good environment and exposure. I appeared for CUET UG and apart from that there was nothing else and entire admission process was online. The cut off for my course was 748/800 in cuet. I basically relied on NCERT's to prepare for these. My college has a really good faculty, sometimes guest faculties are appointed - where it may become difficult. Apart from this, it also provides exposure to various societies - music, drama, NSS, NSO. However college can get hectic at times.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is well designed, but the lectures allotted are very less to complete the entire course in one semester. Usually with few professors, you need to cover up the syllabus yourselves. Sociology infact does give you alot of exposure in terms of concepts such as stratification, religion, family, politics etc. The end sem exams are relatively easier and do able however IA and CA- the internal assessments continue throughout the semester and can become burdening. Attendance marks are also seriously taken into account.
Internships Opportunities :
No i havent opted for any yet, but students can apply through the placement cell which is quite strict in terms of vetting as each pointer in your CV must have substantial proofs. However students do year round internships alongside college.
Placement Experience :
The highest package bagged was around 45LPA, while an average package is around 10-15 LPA. However placement options are more for students enrolled in commerce or economics as compared to others. While yes, the name of LSR is quite big and reputed in the job market, allowing for easy employability. But most of the students try to go for further studies in masters rather than opt for a job.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
My every year fee is around 32k. Apart from this 1000 is cost of books every year and 3000 for exam form. However tuition fee for students with reservations is lower and this fee also includes the expenses for the field trip in third year of course which is around 1 week long.
Campus Life :
Tarang is a three day annual festival in march - alot of fun, various competitons and artists perform. NSS Mela is also held around diwali and DBR sports meet is also conducted once a year. College infact has two libraries - good stock of academic books and stuff. Students can also start their own socs, though it is quite challenging such as MARKSOC and Nazakat- fashion socities are newer student set bodies. There are numerous opportunities for extracurriculars. But one can also face imposter syndrome as multi talented students are usually part of the the college.
Hostel Facilities :
College hostel is CLOSED as it is under rennovation so we never got an option to stay in hostel but the food menu from what i heard was really nice with three meals and snacks being offered. I live in a PG, like 10 minute walk but it can get quite expensive around 15- 25k of expenses per month is the norm. Due to a girls college the back gate does experience some safety issues.

The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.

Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose my course because I was interested in learning a business environment and management processes. Faculties are very well experienced and professional , and teaching methods are good. Term exams are held every 6 months and difficulty level is not very high .
Doing masters in political science from Daulat Ram college
Placement Experience :
Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.

The placement opportunities are genuine, infact there is a dedicated placement cell in the college, companies like EY, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC too participate in our placement fairs and students have actually got good placements!

du sol provides placement in news 18, aaj tak and job opportunities as according to the course of student pursuing. just visit to du sol north campus head quarter ask for the facility they will provide . bad thing is they dont provide on regular basis.

The placement cell is quite active. There are always placement and internship fairs every year and even other college students can join them. The placement recruiters are from top companies like Deloitte, KPMG, EY, etc. Although, not every one gets in these companies but then, there are other companies as well like Finshots, Voice Your Vichaar, etc. The average package is 3LPA and highest package is 8LPA.
