IMUCET is exam conducted for merchant Navy and for getting good campus like imu Kolkata or Navi Mumbai you should get rank about 1500 in general. You should have passport and 60% in 10 and 12th PCM compulsory.
The course curriculum is approved by DG shipping. Our curriculum consists of both physical training and academics and different time period period week is allotted for both phases. We get good training for future merchant Navy engineering officer. Faculties are government officials or retired mercantile Navy officers. Fees is little high but loans are available as it's tier 2 college.
The internship opportunities are available as either Trainee Marine onboard or as simulation classes in ships. I have not done any internship still as I am a neophyte only. Cadets get internship in 8th semester.
There placement opportunities here are best amongst all Indian Marine engineering colleges. All good companies like SCI, Chevron , nyk , delos, British petroleum, mediterranean shipping company,etc visit and good offers are given. In Marine industry salaries for same kind of ships are almost same and difference lies for type of contract offered.
Living in hostel is compulsory as part of training. Social life is amazing as Cadets here are always together and perform all activities together. There are different clubs like sainyatri, writers, etc and tempest is organised in February which is biggest Marine fest of Asia.
