Remarks :
The most important factor for choosing this college is placements which are far better than any other colleges and also the infrastructure present over here. Moreover the Alumni network of our college is so strong that it helps to boost up the placement scenarios of our college. Admission process is through an entrance exam "IMU-CET" which is generally conducted every year in the month of June. Securing a good rank is a must for getting selected to IMU Kolkata. Minimum requirements like 60% in PCM both in class 10 and class 12 is also there.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The faculties of this college are generally from Marine background.Other facilties for core subjects are Phd holders from NIT, IITs abd Jadavpur University. So coming on to faculties, no doubt they are excellent. The course is mostly a combination of Mechanical Engineering (about 65%),Electrical Engineering (about 8%),programming and coding (about 4%),Civil Engineering (Especially the construction purpose which is about 2%),Rest of the course related to shipping, macheneries in ship, MARPOL,SOLAS rules and regulations (about 21%) Two internal tests of 20 marks are conducted before every semester exams.Semester exams are normally the end sem exams which is conducted in the month of December and another the mid sem exams which is conducted in the month of May.
Internships Opportunities :
College provides internships to companies like GRSE LTD., INS SHIVAJI, CEMS, PPT, LOGIS etc. Stipends arent provided but you will surely get a certificate which essentially helps in placements.Seperate internship cell has been provided to take care of the internship programs.
Placement Experience :
Placement rate is more than 90%.Some Cadets still dont take up job as per their own decisions and lookout for a shore job. Placements for lady cadets starts from first year and for male cadets,they start getting placed from second year. Companies visiting our college normally includes mass recruiters like Pacific Basin, Zodiac,NYK Lines, Wilhelmsen,Fleet Management, BSM, TORM shipping, Dynagas, Shell, GENCO, MSC, Synergy, and even PSU companies like IOCL.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
For every odd semesters the fees is Rs 150000 and for even semesters the fees is Rs 125000 Lab fees, hostel and mess food fees, uniform related fees everything is included in the semester fees.A security deposit of Rs 20000 is also taken before admission process.
Campus Life :
As it is a paramilitary college,so Discipline is of utmost importance. Three fallins are conducted every day First fallin conducted at 0600 hours before the Physical Training period. Second Fallin conducted at 0845 hours before going to college. College starts from 0900 hours to 1300 hours and again resumes from 1400 hours to 1700 hours. Cadets have to remain shaved and maintain their uniform throughout the day. Sports is from 1800 hours to 1900 hours Night fallin conducted from 2015 hours to 2100 hours
Hostel Facilities :
Cadets have to opt for Hostels because this course is a residential course. Food are quite good.Hostels are clean,workers clean the corridors on a daily basis. Breakfast normally includes boiled eggs, Omlettes, Bread, jam, butter, seasonal fruit,Noodles,Pasta,Chole bhature, Dal puri, Aloo parathe. Lunch includes Salad, Rice, Dal, Mix Veg,Soyabean,Egg curry, Kofta, Seasonal vegetables etc Dinner normally includes Chicken curry, Fish, Panner, Fried rice some times, Puri, Sattu Paratha, Chicken Biriyani only on Sundays,Ice cream, Gulab jamun ettc

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.

There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
