Remarks :
NITs are among the prestigious college in india, here a student is provided with best teachers and best infrastructure . well for nit durgapur it is also best colleges among the nits , nit durgapur is in west bengal.Well at first i thought i will explore bengal while choosing the college but we all expectations are different then reality , if anyone preparing for jee right now and have in mind that will explore the city then you guys gonna be disappoint . Now lets talk about real aspects of the college as we know we first have to clear jee and councelling process after that we got our college . it is a good college for those who are willing to something here but we have good placement among all branches and good average for cse , ece, ee and me for civil, chemical , biotech and meta decent average package . good infrastructer also good faculty all of our labs are good well equiped . sports facilities are also good with good coaches or teacher .
Course Curriculum Overview :
well in india specially in jee we dont choose our courses our rank decides what our branch will be , so yeah it is like that for me also . here faculties are very good with great research exp understanding and yeah you might find some difficulties in teaching methods , not all teachers are likes this but yeah some are .For exams are timely scheduled . For first years exam are slightly esay so that they easily passes but once you get in 2nd year things get change you experience good load of studies assingment and lab work lab reports which you have to submit on time strictly.fees are kind of fixed you need not to worry about that it is the standard fees for nits and iits and not very costly to afford you . lots of scholarships are provied to assist the students and if you are from bengal you have maintain 7 cgpa to get 60k per sem and for other states there are other criterias too you can find it on college website .
Internships Opportunities :
i am in second year so have not started internships yet actually internships starts in 3 rd year college itself provides you internships opportunities based on you cgs. some might get paid and some might not
Placement Experience :
you have to maintain 6.5 cg to sit in the placements and it may differ according to companies . as i am in 2nd year so i have little less idea of placements well for meta 90% students get placed last year with a median package of 9 lakhs .
Campus Life :
college life is the best thing during college. you meet diff people from diff areas and make new friends enjoying fests with friends is whole new experience in colleges . well we have arrohan as our cultural fest which is conducted in march. we good library and have all kinds of journals and books available . classrooms are spacious and equipped with projectors . we have sac for our sports need every kind of ground is here in nit durgapur football, cricket, basketball, lawn tennis etc. i cant tell about clubs because i am not in one but we have lots of clubs . hostels good specially daily cleaned and for food it is terrible specially for vegeterians .

Placement Experience :
Students should not have any backlog at the 6 th semester. Placement and internship opportunities are gradually decreasing. Currently our college is approved by NBA it may help in our placement. TCS is the main recruiter, Accenture, Infosys, Evosys, ThoughtWorks etc. also come to our campus.

There placement opportunities here are best amongst all Indian Marine engineering colleges. All good companies like SCI, Chevron , nyk , delos, British petroleum, mediterranean shipping company,etc visit and good offers are given. In Marine industry salaries for same kind of ships are almost same and difference lies for type of contract offered.

Placements rate is very down fromw previous years.... Criteria for placement is to have no active backlog No offensive background 65 percentage of getting placement My plans are if I get a placement then ok but if I don't I will be doing masters

Placements and job opportunities are also very good in this college. You are eligible for placements after the 6th sem and there are no any other criteria. Some of the companies that visits here are tcs, infosys, cognizant, flipkart etc. The average package of this college is 5 to 6 lpa and the highest package is 27 lpa. Almost 89 percent student get placed every year.

Placements are obviously very very good here and u will get lots of opportunities here to be placed , here there is no chance that u will not get placed because placement rate is around 100 percent some of students don't register themselves for placement and rather they go for some startups and IIMs and IAS .
