The factor that made me choose this college is 1st of it is a NIT. The label of NIT is enough & and it is near my residing area, the college itself has great infrastructure and campus. One of my friends was in this college before I got in I discussed it with him before I opted for it. The review I got was very pleasing and It checked all the boxes for me so I opted for it in JOSAA counselling. I had to take the JEE MAINS examination to get admission to this college. JOSAA allotted a B.tech in Mechanical engineering in this college. I was happy with it. My percentile was 92.58. I was from my home state so I got the admission.
I was allotted this course by JOSAA counseling according to my rank. The faculties are excellent in their domain and their teaching method is good in some cases and not so good in other cases but they do try hard to make you understand the subjects. Some of the teachers are like gods of teaching particularly in that subject. This course is 4 years long. Each year has 2 semesters total of 8 semesters. Each semester comprises exams in two terms, Mid Term and End Term. There is no such fee hike policy that I know of. All the scholarships be it government or private is applied here.
I am not eligible for the internship and placement phase as I am just stepping into 2nd year so is no internship for us. When I get into 3rd year then I will be eligible for the internship process.
Visited recruiters are Microsoft, Intel, TCS, Goldman Sach, AMD, L&T, and many more. Interested people can check the college placement cell. highest package of 2023 was 70 LPA and the average was 13 LPA. In my branch, the placement percentage was 84.56%. I am planning to get a job.
The college campus is very good and spacious enough to hold large-scale events. Many activities are organized in which students can take part like quizzes, hackathons, and competition events including arts, treasure hunts, and many more. Everyone is friendly and the location is also good and has nearby facilities and can very well handle emergencies. There are many fests organized by the clubs of the college and college itself like AAROHAN(biggest tech fest in East Asia's NITs), VISTAAR(management fest), VIRASAT( cultural fest), and many more. Especially the AAROHAN is the best fest it is a perfect mixture of tech and fun great DJ nights and great food stalls are there in the fests. It's Incredible.
Placement is I do not say that is very good but I would say that treatment is almost okay and that's up to you and lot of MNC companies came in our College group. There are internship opportunities industrial training like Euphoria ardent like this MNC and ideas
In this college we have five departments, civil, computer science, mechanical, electrical and mechanical respectively and the stops are very good and the faculties are highly qualified and they are about almost everyone is iitiab
Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies
Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.
Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
