- Most of the faculty is supportive, encourages us to move forward, do research, succeed.
- The social clubs, the gatherings, the friends, are one of the best things.
Dislikes
- The infrastructure can be improved even more, and with the growing advancement in technology, college lacks in equipment, well-trained individuals, research facilities.
- The sports conditions are not very good.
Remarks :
The college is in my home state, pretty close to home, so it was an easy pick. A couple of seniors I know, have studied there/ are currently studying there. They suggested that it would be a good choice to join the college, being one of the top NITs. Good placements, a lot of highly experienced professors/ researchers. One of the bad aspects of the college is it's geographical locations. Durgapur is an industrial town, so pollution is a big set back, but, the area around the campus is filled with lush greenery, so the effect of pollution is quite controlled in and around the campus. The town experiences high temperatures, again owing to its location. Admission to UG is based on JEE Mains, JOSAA & CSAB counselling. For General candidates, around minimum of 97 percentile is required to secure admission. Someone with a category, will get an advantage.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course, because of my JEE Mains rank, but Electrical Engineering department is one of the best departments of the college. Faculty, most of them, are highly experienced, great at teaching, not quite student-friendly. Two exams per semester (one mid-term of 25 marks & one end-term of 60 marks), the rest on internals. The question papers were quite standard, mostly from what's taught in lectures. Scholarships are available, namely SVMCM, NSP etc.
Internships Opportunities :
Many internships were offered this summer-internship season. Some of them being from RIL, Amazon, etc. I am not sure of the stipends offered. The different projects, research papers done by our students, along with the profs, are highlighted in the official site of NIT Durgapur.
Placement Experience :
Eligibility criteria depends on the companies, most making a requirement of 7.5CGPA. Recruiters include RIL, Amazon, JPMC, GFG etc. For the current year, around 90 % students got placed, on-campus, with a lot of internships being offered.
Campus Life :
Two major fests- AAROHAN (the annual techno-management fest) & RECSTACY (the annual cultural fest ), both conducted in March-April (dates vary). The different official social clubs of the college conduct their own fests, between Feb-March. Library is very well equipped, with really good books available for every area of interest one might seek. Classrooms are well-built & well-equipped, with projectors, speakers, ACs. Sports is quite dull in the campus, not much happening around. Two fields( namely Lords & Ovals, the later being the bigger one). Inter hostel tournaments are organized sometimes. Various clubs are there in the college, covering different fields, in such a way that every student in the college can feel involved. Auditions are held for each club spanning over a couple months, to get recruited into the clubs. The prestigious SPIC MACAY, IEEE, SAE, ISTE etc. all have their student branches in the college, run by worthy individuals. Hostels vary year-year.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
