The reason I chose this college is because of the brand value it carries, its placements as well as its top-class faculty. Yes, we had to take a written test for IIFT then the shortlisting happens on various criteria after that the people will be called for the extempore and interview. The cut-off changes every year. The college calculates the composite score based on the academic background 10,12 marks and special points were given to girls for gender diversity. This is mainly for 1st shortlisting which is for an interview. Then again a composite score is calculated based on the work experience, extempore, and group discussion performance. Thereafter the final shortlist is released for the campuses. Currently, IIFT has scrapped the IIFT exam and the intake is through CAT. I prepared by going through all the current news and also enrolled for a CAT coaching that helped me crack the Entrance as well as the interview.
The course has a specialization in International business due to which I chose this course. As more and more businesses go global having a specialization gives me an edge over my peers. The curriculum is very comprehensive and contains 25 core courses along with 18 electives which are spread out in the 6 trimesters. There are 6 trimesters, each trimester contains a mid-term exam and also an end-term exam. Each trimester lasts for about 2.5 months. The difficulty level is quite good as the exams are more application-based than just in theory. The faculty are highly qualified and each of them holds a PhD from renowned colleges. Faculties are requested to submit research papers while in college and they should have a particular rating. The college does have financial assistance firstly we have a tie-up with banks which provide loans at minimal cost also we have certain scholarship schemes that help people to study in the college
Yes, we have a placement committee that looks after all the placement activities. We have a summer process where the company visits the campus for the summer interns. The companies that visit the campus for summers include Croda, Medtronic, JPMC, Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, EY, Deloitte, etc. The placements were quite good and the highest package stood at 4.5 lakhs for 2 months whereas the median was 2.5 lakhs for 2 months. The roles offered were marketing interns, finance interns, trade finance
The placements are very good in the college. This year the placements stood at a median of 25 lakhs per annum with the average being 27 lpa and the highest domestic went up to 75 lpa. The companies that visit our campus are from varied domains like sales and marketing, finance, trade, product management, etc. The companies that visit campus include HSBC, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, EY, ETG, Phillips, ABFRL, etc. There were around 120 recruiters that visited the campus and the placements were 100%. There were even companies that offered international packages as well with greater compensation. My plans after graduating is to pursue a career in finance
The campus life is quite good. We have all the sports facilities in the college available. We have a Nescafe which is open till 4 am the students can buy food from there. All the classrooms are air-conditioned and we have a library with maximum data available. The classrooms are equipped with projectors and also touch screens which professors use to take lectures. We have a great repository of data that is available and we also have Bloomberg terminals installed in the campus. Yes, I have opted for the hostel. each student is provided with a single occupancy room and the hostel fees are included in the overall fees of the college. All the amenities are there like a shower, watercooler, fans, and cupboards. We have different committees in colleges which count to 13 including all the clubs, cells, and committees. The quality of the food is also good but we have to pay 15000 every trimester to avail the mess facility.
Placement is I do not say that is very good but I would say that treatment is almost okay and that's up to you and lot of MNC companies came in our College group. There are internship opportunities industrial training like Euphoria ardent like this MNC and ideas
In this college we have five departments, civil, computer science, mechanical, electrical and mechanical respectively and the stops are very good and the faculties are highly qualified and they are about almost everyone is iitiab
Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies
Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.
Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
