- Jorhat engineering college doesn't have a large size campus .As a government college, the infrastructure are quite good . Classrooms has AC ,projector Faculties are good here. The faculties of Civil department are quite commendable in this case
- The annual tech fest named " PHOENIX" is the biggest event in the entire Upper Assam.
Remarks :
There is an exam called CEE ( common entrance exam) which is held every year after 12 the board exam.it is a exam of 3 papers( physics, chemistry and maths) of 480 marks. This exam can get you seats in top engineering colleges in Assam. The cut-off is very low for this exam. Caste quotas are also available in this exam. scoring between 100-200 can assure you a seat in these colleges. The syllabus is the same as JEE but the level of hardness is low here.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Courses are updated. Every course can meet one's expectations and desired learnings. The lab practicals are going to add a new touch to your learning. The labs are very good. LAB assistant helps you understand the core concepts of that subject.
Internships Opportunities :
Every student has to do an internship in his /her tenure at the end of even semester. In 2nd semester I did a social internship in an NGO called Ideal Abhijaan. There we encountered nearby villagers and prepared a proper case study of women's living standards in that place.
Placement Experience :
The placement scenario is also good. Every year CSE students get 100% placement. Many good companies like Flipkart, Mahindra, Bajaj, Dalmia, Dabur, OIL, NRL, Capgemini, etc come every year to offer jobs to students. If you prepare well you'll get a placement too. The highest package this year was 17lakh.The average package is 5LPA. Being from Civil, I am planning to go for higher studies ( M.Tech)
Campus Life :
The social life is kinda amazing. Around 15 clubs are there- Music, Drama , Robotics, E-Cell, GDSC, Arts & Crafts, and whatnot. A newly built Central Library is going to open in few a days. Coursebooks are easily available in the library. one can read in the library too. The main website of PHOENIX is solely made and run by students. The hostel is also good. we have 8 men's hostels and 2 girls' hostels. Other new hostels are being built on the campus. The food is good in the mess. For the hostel, you'll have to apply during admission. If Hostel is allocated to you, you'll have to register by paying a respective fee.

Good-moderate faculty but maintenance of every other thing is very much not on time The authority doesn’t seem to be concerned about the students and delays every work and at the last moment you will be running around .

There are teachers under which u can work and later they can surely help u land a intership, happened with one of my friend. But as of now department dont directly provide u internship. I dont wanna say vague or old numbers about average or highest placement data, so wont comment on it but overall its not that great but there are exceptions, like there are some brilliant minds who lands an enormous off campus placement.(My 2 seniors who r out of india right now) Last year Bharat electronics BHEL came and took 8 seniors for 13lpa package, some banking companies and TCs comes too. My plans after my degree is to get a job in electronic domain while also focusing on my photography and editing Passion Check my work on insta sodaa.edits
My life in B.Borooah College as a science student
Placement Experience :
Placements At B. Borooah College for a BSc Forget it. There's no placement scene like you hear about. No companies come for recruitment drives. The so-called placement cell just puts up notices for government job ads or maybe a local pharmacy needing a helper. I've never seen a single big name visit campus to hire BSc grads. So there's no list of recruiters, no number of offers, and definitely no talk of high packages. Zero students get placed from here in that way. The plan after the degree is everything. For me, it's going for an MSc. For others, it's preparing for government exams, doing B.Ed., or applying to labs and hospitals directly. This college gives you the valid degree, the ticket to sit for other exams or apply further. It doesn't get you a job. It makes you eligible to go find one yourself. Your future is 100% in your own hands after you walk out.

There are 100% internship in Bsc agriculture are also good the average packages 3 to 4 LPA the highest package is 12 LPA percentage of students getting placements are about 70 - 80% the eligibility criteria depends upon the performance of the student on its practical work and its CGPA

The ratio of placement and job is very poor, this is a college of general degree course, so after passing B.Sc., B.Sc. one does not get a job directly, in future one has to do Masters degree, PhD.But data from the last three/four year revealed that students did get jobs in SBI and some other organization, but the percentage was very low.That is why most of the students after completing normal graduation take admission in courses like Masters and BEd, Deled.And my plan in future is to do Masters from IIT or IISER, after that I want to do PhD.

Life as a BTech Student at IIT guwahati
Placement Experience :
there is a CPI criteria of around 6 to sit for placements. The highest packages for bachelors can go up to 1.5cr. Companies in coding include Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, finance companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and many more. Highest paying companies are AlphaGrep, Quadeye, JaneStreet but that is very competitive with only people with the best results and from CS getting in. Many people also receive preplacement offers after internships. There are also many companies that visit for product management roles like Ola, Meesho etc. The placement process for Design students is separate. There are also core companies like Texas instruments, that visit.

I choose this course because I am interested in learning coding and I want to seek my future in this line. I am finding some difficulties in understanding the subjects and topics but I believe it is because I am new to this field and new to everything.
