- The infrastructure is very good they have library, gardens, grounds, indoor court for basketball, volleyball and badminton. The university is spread over a large area having many farms for trial and research great laboratories , auditorium smart classrooms..
- The faculty are very co operative and understanding. The have great knowledge on their subject course. The method of teaching is also remarkable..
- Campus Life is quite peacefull They have their own canteens and bakery.. hostels are inside the campus and for summer timing for closing gate is 8pm while in winters it is 7 pm. The college hourse are from 10 am to 5 pm. The lunch time is from 1pm to 2 pm..
Dislikes
- Due to its broad area maintainence of each are is quite difficult Also due to the large area there is always shortage of helpers..
- Sometimes due to academic calendar dates and schedule professors have to rush things which might complicate the study for students however they try their best not to do so..
- Student gets homesick quite easily due to the over friendly environment of hostellers and other students
Remarks :
I graduated from this university so doing my masters from the same was a better option for me... The admission for masters in this university is based on the icar pg jrf exam. Students have to pay a fee and register on its website www.hillagric.ac.in , the fee has two option one for the general non paid seats and the other is self financing seat in which student have to pay 40k extra each semester.. The merit list will be made and released after few days of registeration. On the given date of acceptance of admission in the college student have to fill up form which will be made available on the website... Make two copies of it with 10th and 12th marksheet , PDC , character certificate and migration and sports nl, NCC and nss certificate if you have any.. Himachal bonafide students will get first preference and in this also bsc agriculture will be preferred over bsc horticulture .... This university has great emphasis on academics and practicals.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The reason for choosing this course is that it has a great importance in private as well government sector . Availability of various exams and jobs makes it a good option for future prospects.. The exam started after one month i.e. hourly exams of all the major and minor courses with maximum number 10, then next month comes mid term , then after one and half month comes the final practicals and end term.. The faculty of this university are renowned professors and they have a vary vast knowledge of the topics they teach us as well as they promote us, motivate us ,creates a friendly environment for more comfortable understanding... Each student will get an advisor from the teaching professors, for their research work and thesis.. General non paid students scoring more than 75% in each semester gets scholarship Of around 2k or more / month. The fee for self financing students is quite high..
Internships Opportunities :
Farmer company, kullu is the company where I opted my internship. We got to know about making of different fruit juices, pickles, etc.. We studied and worked with the workers in production of good quality juices and pickles. The stipend was 4k/ month. The projects were to make juice and pickles and to sell them, also how to utilise the waste products like pulp from the fruits and other products. How to label and sell products, and to reuse them again and again
Placement Experience :
The university has ties with mother dairy, iffco, Verka, etc. providing placements to students. The highest package would be 16 lakhs and average is 5-6 laks annually.. students percentage of getting placement is about 34%.. I will be aiming for PhD and AFO as well as ADO exam...
Campus Life :
Him trang utsav, agrinight, and many more fests are organised every year but the date is not prefixed... Library have very broad availability of books from agriculture to veterinary to social and other subjects also.. they have special room for thesis books. Books can be issued from library from 12 to upto 4 months.. Classrooms are packed with good infrastructure for teaching and security purposes also, labs have numerous equipments required for conducting research. Sports and athletic meet occur for 7 days and different games are played and competed among the colleges in the university youth fest are organised. Social groups are available on Instagram.. As for hostels the registration is done during admission. rooms are allotted according to the availability. According to merit list highest scoring student will get the room first.. The mess is co-operative, the mess workers are humble and food is quite good. As for the pg there are many colonies nearby providing pg to students.
