- I think I really like about this college is the faculty. Professor are really good no doubt.
- Second thing is library system. Students who have financial problems to purchase book they can easily borrow it from library for whole semester.
Dislikes
- Social life is pretty dull. Only thing they cared about is studies except that understand nothing. So if you're looking for a college where professor took study seriously then you can take admission here.
- Canteen food are affordable but quality isn't that much good.
Remarks :
Good aspects: professors are friendly and they help a lot during exams. The cut-off isn't high so students who even got 60% in 12th can get admission easily. College unions are friendly too they don't force or bother students to participate. The admission procedure is pretty easy too. Bad aspects: Infrastructure is under construction so in the future students will get better infrastructure. Social life is pretty dull in this don't expect proper fest and all every year.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course because my goal is SSC CGL so to appear in that exam I need a proper graduation degree that's why I chose this college. The faculty is very good they are well qualified and use pretty easy methods to teach so the students won't face any problems. Our HOD in the commerce department holds 24 years of teaching experience in this college. Exams are set by Calcutta University so you can face irregularities in exams and exams are pretty difficult if you don't study. Students can apply for the SVMCM scholarship if you have 60% marks you are eligible for this scholarship you will get 12,000 per annum. But you need to get 60% by combining both odd and even semesters.
Internships Opportunities :
No, I didn't opt for any internship but my friend got into TCS with the role of BPO. We got the opportunity to appear for TCS's exam and very few appeared for that exam only he got the internship.
Placement Experience :
It's a plain graduation degree so don't expect any placement or job opportunities but recently my friend got placement in TCS so it depends upon you. Very few companies approach our college but many different institutions come for future studies.
Campus Life :
This is the biggest drawback of our college. Our college doesn't have any proper fest so it happens occasionally with an interval of 1 year. Classrooms are pretty big and spacious students will also get the benefit of a smart classroom. And the library is best for your studies you can every single according to your syllabus of different writers you can choose which one you prefer and you can borrow a book for the whole semester. Our college doesn't have any student clubs but it does have a political student union if you want you can join but they won't force you to join. We don't have any hostel but you can get PG near the college and it's a peaceful area ideal for students.

Placements are not being offered from our college solely. But internship is being offered in the last 6 months mandatory for the completion of the four year course. The placement thing is solely on you like how capable are you to get into one hospital. But this college has nothing to do with it.

One should not be have any backlogs to sit for campus placements and should keep a decent GPA as many companies puts a cut off GPA. Placements are very decent and almost 70 percentage gets placed many of the others gets into higher studies

Student should not have any Backlog and Minimum 60% throughout academics , those who qualify this criteria they can be part of placement drive. Cognizant - 12 , TCS - 4, Bavistech - 8, Utah Tech Labs - 15. Highest - 9 LPA , Average - 3.5 LPA Around 30% student got placed. I got placed and after getting degree i will join that compnay.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.

Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
