Remarks :
Sarojini Naidu College for Women is a renowned institution offering B.A B.Com B.Sc. The institute is staffed with highly skilled and experienced faculty members . The Library is very well maintained. And the best thing was that I got the combination of subjects I wanted with sociology.
Course Curriculum Overview :
About the course: Studying Sociology provides a better understanding of the Reasons for social differences, ,the differential in group opportunities and outcome, the relevance of social hierarchies and social power in everyday life. Sociology has drawn our attention to the intrinsic worth and dignity of man. It changed our outlook with regard to the social problem. Faculty: Our faculty was very good. Every teacher is highly educated and most of them are doctorates. They always help us in all maters and our head of the department motivates us a lot. Subject: Sociology is the study of the development, structure and functioning of human society. That means it is a subject about our society, culture. So it is very easy to understand.
Internships Opportunities :
I did an internship conducted by Mahindra Pride classroom on the Employability Skill Programme. In this programme we were taught how to develop our personality, what qualities should we possess. Later an education institute came and gave us preparatory training for government jobs.
Placement Experience :
I heard that many students got placement form our college. The highest package is around 80k and the minimum package is approximately 20k. There are too many companies like the bansal group, Amazon and many more.
Campus Life :
Events : Various events are held in our college like - 1. The convocation ceremony of the Bengali Department , 2. Independence day celebration 3. Rabindranath Tagore's birthday 4.Kazi Nazrul Islam's birthday 5.Birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda 6. Netaji joyonti 7. Cultural competition 8. Foundation day 9. Basanta Uthsav and so on. Library: The Library has around 40000 books , twelve to fifteen journals to its credit. The infrastructure is getting more developed and expanded with time. It has the facilities for e-library. Sports: Our college has a good playground with basketball and volleyball court . Gym facilities are also available Hostel: Number of beds - around 65. And the hostel food quality is good. But Hostel rooms need to be better.

Placement Experience :
Placements are not being offered from our college solely. But internship is being offered in the last 6 months mandatory for the completion of the four year course. The placement thing is solely on you like how capable are you to get into one hospital. But this college has nothing to do with it.

One should not be have any backlogs to sit for campus placements and should keep a decent GPA as many companies puts a cut off GPA. Placements are very decent and almost 70 percentage gets placed many of the others gets into higher studies

Student should not have any Backlog and Minimum 60% throughout academics , those who qualify this criteria they can be part of placement drive. Cognizant - 12 , TCS - 4, Bavistech - 8, Utah Tech Labs - 15. Highest - 9 LPA , Average - 3.5 LPA Around 30% student got placed. I got placed and after getting degree i will join that compnay.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.

Placements are for MSc batch only. Last year the highest package was 28LPA from Citi Bank, Gurgaon. Majorly hiring companies that come in FETSU for placements only come to maths dept in SFSU. Packages offered here are based on qualities. It decent.
