NIT Raipur : Good enough with problems.
Likes
- The college has good enough infrastructure and is clean enough.
- The faculties of IT department , at least , have been super chill.
Dislikes
- The college has many classrooms where the fan hardly works and in summer, oh man.
- The campus life is basically non existent here , rely on your friends to make everything good.
Remarks :
I cleared JEE with 97.678 percentile and I wanted a good branch over a good college, so I chose this. Easy as that. This college had good placement statistics as well so that added to its good points. But the hostel is a big problem here, and the possibility of getting a room after 1st year depends on your academic track.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The branch IT was my first choice because of the highest package of this college, and that was possible to get on my percentile. The curriculum here is alright, just. The timings are all over the place, but they are nothing too terrible, The faculties are classic college faculties: depend on your self more than teachers. The fees are pretty low compared to some of the similar NITs ( probably 1 or 2 lakhs less ).
Internships Opportunities :
No, not yet. The internship opportunities are mostly off campus and not on campus, and to grab those on-campus interns, you’ll have to be exceptionally good and they also don’t pay that well. Off-campus have better opportunities. I don’t know much about internships, but they are just there, nothing good.
Placement Experience :
The placements here are good enough just keep above 8.5 CPI. Previous recruiters are adobe, amazon, cisco, texas instruments, etc . with the highest at 55 LPA and an average of college being around 12-14 LPA(of all B.Tech), with branches like IT, ECE, and CSE having average ranging from 15-18 LPA. The higher branches have a high placement rate, over 92 percent. Even lower branches have higher placement rates, just not that good.
Campus Life :
I barely use the library, so dunno anything about it. There are mainly four main fests here in a year:- garba night, eclectic, Shaurya ( sports fest )and avartan, with eclectic-tika being the flagship fest with celebrity guests. There are a lot of clubs here as well. The hostels are just alright. And the food is pathetic. You can rent PGs nearest to Kota. The college hardly has any infrastructure though.

I choose Mechanical Engineering as my course here, as i am interested in Automotive, and also this institute is near my home town. There are permanent faculty members present in institute. All lectures are done in proper classrooms and study materials are also provides digitally. There is not much placement opportunities for the students of biotechnology compared to the students of b.tech. basically the placement is based on a merit list so not All students are benefited with this kind of placements only the students who wear like gold medalist where awarded this placement. For the the students in the BTech where awarded with better job opportunities and placement.

According to Nirf reports 2023 , 13 ug(3, yr), 123 uh(4yr),1ug (5 yr) ,115pg (2yrs) and 38pg(3yr) students are placed and median package offered is INR 4 lpa, inr 3 lpa, int 4 lpa, inr 3 lpa and inr 2.45 lpa .

Placenta for whole college is going on good not ver best coz of recession but yeah core branches placements are nice specially metallurgy and chemical branch . our branch average package previous year is 8.7 lac and for this year it is 8.3 lack almost all are placed. For cse and IT branch placement is not going well as I said before due to recession . over all.avg pckg of nit raipur is 9.5 lac gor all branch.

If you are from top branches like CSE, IT then you'll numbers of internship oppurtinities but for lower branches the intership oppurtinities are less. Mostly all the student get placed through campus placement but someone left the can try offcampus oppurtinities.

From the 5th semester students become eligible for internship and from starting of 4th year companies start on campus recruitment process . Top companies visited Nit Raipur for placements are Google, Adobe, Microsoft, Samsung, Arcisium, Phonepe etc. Highest package offered was 55 lacs per annum. and for IT branch Average package was 18.11 lacs per annum.
