- Our college have a great infrastructure with proper working lift and college canteen facility is also available.
- Teachers and staffs are very helpful and friendly as well which makes easy for us to solve any problems regarding academics or any official problems or doubts.
Dislikes
- Canteen facilities could be improved as there are very few benches so some time it gets crowded.
- We have a hectic schedule as our classes and labs starts from morning and continues till evening.
Remarks :
Well-reputed college with well-equipped laboratories. Admission was done through online counselling after taking the WBJEE exam no as such group discussions were held for the admission process. It was mandatory to carry the Wbjee rank card.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Bachelor of pharmacy is a standard technical course with a better future scope. Faculties are highly qualified and talented with great teaching skills. Every month we have internal exams and semester exams within six months and the difficulty level is moderate. Scholarships are also available for the students.
Internships Opportunities :
As this is a private college no stipend is being offered students are required to complete the industrial training and hospital training during the academic session and also need to do projects in the final year for which guides are also assigned by our college.
Placement Experience :
Our college has a placement cell for the placement proceedings to carry on during ongoing fourth-year students can sit in the placement interview. Companies like gsk and torrent visit our college for recruitment. On average a package of 200000 is offered and around 70% of the students get the placement as some of the students opt for higher studies.
Campus Life :
As per the university calendar fests and programs are organised by the college Great library with an abundant number of books and journals related to academics. Sports day is also organised by our college. No college hostel is present but various pg and mess are situated near the college.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.

Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.

Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Placements are for MSc batch only. Last year the highest package was 28LPA from Citi Bank, Gurgaon. Majorly hiring companies that come in FETSU for placements only come to maths dept in SFSU. Packages offered here are based on qualities. It decent.
