based on my jee advance rank, it was the best college which was offering b.tech in computer science that's why I chose it. College have quite good placement stats which is probably the first thing anyone checks about college. One reason I might have worried about was the climate of Punjab, in the summer it reached 44 45degrees but still, I preferred to decide based on placement stats.
One of the key highlights of IIT Ropar is its well-designed course curriculum and its faculty. I have many friends in other IITs and what they say about their faculty is that they just come to class, read slides and leave. But in my college professors like to interact with the class, they try to make everything clear to students. And due to their experience of teaching, they know where a student might get doubt so they try to convey that part in a much easier manner. And there is a fee weaver if you are financially weak, you might get partial tuition fee off or even in some cases full t fee off depending upon your financial condition. You can also have a bank loan very easily from the campus branch of SBI.
I am currently in 2nd year and have not opted for any scholarship yet. But, as I previously mentioned there are a lot of internship opportunities on campus and under proper guidance from your seniors and a little hard work from your side, you will get an internship offer in 3rd year or earlier. In most of the internships you will work on an application project.
Being an IIT the placement stats are amazing. If I talk about last year's stats around 83 percent of students got placed with an average package of around 21 lpa. If I talk especially about cse, around 95 per cent of students got placed with an average package of around 28 lpa(median 28) which are good numbers.
Campus life is amazing here. Various fests are held every year. Th cultural fest is "Zietgest" which is held in the last week of October or in the first week of November. Apart from that sports fest "aarohan" and tech fest "advitiya" and some other fests are also conducted. The library is equipped with every book that you might need in your 4-year journey. Students are passionate towards sports. But as compared to other IITs, IIT Ropar don't spend enough money on sports infrastructure. Hostel rooms are very small for 1st year students but later on for and after 2nd year hostel rooms are quite spacious. *HOstel rooms are not equipped with AC. The hostel and mess fee for the whole semester is around 20k which is reasonable. Mess food is decent.
if you are above 6.0 cgpa and no reappears and backlogs your are eligible for 70 % of companies. recently TCS,AMAZON,COGNIZANT also came for placement highest is 51LPA,6LPA avg. 80% of each batch is placed.
To apply for placements in LPU you need to have 6+cgpa mostly. there no company as i know that went without recruiting any student. the highest was on campus was 51.03lakhs Microsoft and average was 5-6 lakhs. the students around 85 %will be placed .my plan was to do a decent job in any MNC.
Placement at CGC landran is decent around 70 to 80% student got placed based on your skills. The eligibility criteria usually includes minimum 60% marks with no active backlogs. Top recruiter companies includes TCS, Wipro, Infosys and Capgemini. The average package is around 3-4 lpa while highest package can go up to 10 to 12 lpa. Multiple offers are made every year across different domain.
I haven't done any intenship yet but Yes, internships are available at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Mohali. Companies include TCS, Infosys, startups. Roles: Web Dev, QA, Data Analyst. Stipend ?5k–15k. Tasks include coding, testing, and project work.
The eligibility for placement is no backlog or reappear and CGPA IS above is 6 and fresher they get placement for 6thsem based on the skills and knowledge of the student and they provide a salary of 3 to 12 lakhs per/ year and recently SPICEJET company give around 8 lakhs CTC for 5 to 8 students and my plans after competing the degree is to do higher education in design modeling.
As the course is designed for pharmaceutical industry so the companies like mankind, sunpharma, macloid, overseas etc. Are top recruiters. The average package is 3-3.5 lakh per annum and highest goes upto 4lpa. As after masters most of the students goes for higher studies and teaching so the placement rate is low.
Overall Placement rate is about 60 to 70 percent for every branches . Recruiters provided descent opportunites to the students. Above 7 CGPA students get eligible. Some recruiter are Infosys, TCS, wipro, Siemens etc
College doesn't keep any eligibility criteria for placement it depends on the company which came for recruitment and yea if you had scored around 8+ cgpa you are eligible for every company Regularly company which come for recruiting students are infosys, tcs ,jsw , cognizant, Capgemini,L&T,tata steel etc Average package is 4LPA and highest package is around 55 LPA Around 75-80 percent students get placed in the college Some of the branches like instrumentation and control engineering and mechanical engineering have around 98-100% placement in the previous year
Since the college comes under an institution it opens the gate for various company and even those which just require a graduation degree instead of a specific field. Cadila Lupin etc visits every year. Good 60 to 70 students gets placed.
The placement are good but there are a lot of criterias for the placement and the college faculties force us to take the placement in the development roles to show that the college has 100% placement. There are less companies for the consultancy or data based jobs. The college doesn't provide any on campus intership. They provide intership in the college Startups and they pay very very less and they exploit the interns as lot. I got only 500 rupees for doing 1 month internship and working 6 hours a week.
