An inside look at NIT Jalandhar
Remarks :
I got admission through Josaa counselling based upon my JEE Mains rank. I also had an option of getting CSE at Thapar institute Patiala but it was expensive. And I also considered the NIT tag. I had a talk with an alumni of this college who was in my knowledge and also passed out NIT Jalandhar from Mechanical branch.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Course curriculum is very strict . It is quite lengthy. There are a lot of labs and tutorials. Tutorials are like tution classes in which the teacher takes the doubts of the students and gave questions for practice in the topic which he/she had taught in class. Labs are of 2 hours each. The time table is divided into 2 halves of the day. 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Theory Classes are held in one half and labs+tutorials are held in other half . Most faculties are very good. A good chunk of them are from IIT's . They had a lot of experience. Even some faculties also have a greate rank in GATE exam. But some faculties are just like they come to class with a ppt and just read that ppt. And they do this the whole semester. Coming to Scholarships , there are a lot of scholarships to SC/ST and OBC students. They also had a laptop scholarship in which the college will pay for yout laptop
Campus Life :
Campus Life is OK. The campus is of 154 acres. The campus is big but not well structured. A Bit of randomness is there . The roadmap is without any planning. A large chunk of space is empty having grass and trees . Simple canteens are there to chill and talk . Library is good . A lot of books are there in the library . The process of getting books issued is also very smooth and fast. Classrooms of some department are built very good but of some department like civil,chemical, IPE, they are quite old. The level of sports is OK in the college . I am in the college's official cricket team and sometimes we don't get the equipments on time . We have to ask them a lot for our needs to be fulfilled. I am in 1st year and there are three hostels in first year BH1,2 and 5. I am in BH2. The food quality there is good. And the environment in hostel is also quite positive. There are a lot of clubs run by the students in different domains like, drama, dance , Bhangra , music etc.

Placement Experience :
To apply for placements in LPU you need to have 6+cgpa mostly. there no company as i know that went without recruiting any student. the highest was on campus was 51.03lakhs Microsoft and average was 5-6 lakhs. the students around 85 %will be placed .my plan was to do a decent job in any MNC.
Life at cgc landran.
Placement Experience :
Placement at CGC landran is decent around 70 to 80% student got placed based on your skills. The eligibility criteria usually includes minimum 60% marks with no active backlogs. Top recruiter companies includes TCS, Wipro, Infosys and Capgemini. The average package is around 3-4 lpa while highest package can go up to 10 to 12 lpa. Multiple offers are made every year across different domain.

Internships Opportunities :
I haven't done any intenship yet but Yes, internships are available at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Mohali. Companies include TCS, Infosys, startups. Roles: Web Dev, QA, Data Analyst. Stipend ?5k–15k. Tasks include coding, testing, and project work.

Placement Experience :
The eligibility for placement is no backlog or reappear and CGPA IS above is 6 and fresher they get placement for 6thsem based on the skills and knowledge of the student and they provide a salary of 3 to 12 lakhs per/ year and recently SPICEJET company give around 8 lakhs CTC for 5 to 8 students and my plans after competing the degree is to do higher education in design modeling.

Placement Experience :
As the course is designed for pharmaceutical industry so the companies like mankind, sunpharma, macloid, overseas etc. Are top recruiters. The average package is 3-3.5 lakh per annum and highest goes upto 4lpa. As after masters most of the students goes for higher studies and teaching so the placement rate is low.

Overall Placement rate is about 60 to 70 percent for every branches . Recruiters provided descent opportunites to the students. Above 7 CGPA students get eligible. Some recruiter are Infosys, TCS, wipro, Siemens etc

College doesn't keep any eligibility criteria for placement it depends on the company which came for recruitment and yea if you had scored around 8+ cgpa you are eligible for every company Regularly company which come for recruiting students are infosys,tcs ,jsw , cognizant, Capgemini,L&T,tata steel etc Average package is 4LPA and highest package is around 55 LPA Around 75-80 percent students get placed in the college Some of the branches like instrumentation and control engineering and mechanical engineering have around 98-100% placement in the previous year

Since the college comes under an institution it opens the gate for various company and even those which just require a graduation degree instead of a specific field. Cadila Lupin etc visits every year. Good 60 to 70 students gets placed.

The placement are good but there are a lot of criterias for the placement and the college faculties force us to take the placement in the development roles to show that the college has 100% placement.There are less companies for the consultancy or data based jobs. The college doesn't provide any on campus intership. They provide intership in the college Startups and they pay very very less and they exploit the interns as lot. I got only 500 rupees for doing 1 month internship and working 6 hours a week.
