- College Seniors : They are really supportive and encouraging and they give push to do something more apart study.
- College office staff : If you have scholarship or any form submission or website issues the college office staff is faster and solution driven people and very cooperative behaviour.
Dislikes
- Library : there should be more subject book s available for different authors as now only few subject we can get.
- Placements and internship : There should be some companies that offer placements and internship to the students so that the poor students can have some monetary support as they pass out and so the college will be more popular.
Remarks :
Prafulla Chandra College is an old government college and located in a good location. And the Metro and bus stand are nearby to the college. Teachers In this college are great cooperative and approachable and give your issues and doubts proper attention. The college has a good office staff that resolves your scholarship and form submission or any website issues faster and more accurately. There is no GD/PU admission in this college. Just the Admission Form Out And Merit List Comes If you have your name in it you have to just make the payment and after that wait for the notice for the first-day announcement by the college. And the college has supportive & friendly seniors.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Bcom hons in Calcutta University curriculum matches with most professional courses like CA, CS, and CMA so I opted for this course as I was to pursue CA and most syllabus matches with my bcom so it has been very easy for me to cope with bcom syllabus while just studying for ca. The faculty teaches nicely and by giving relatable examples so that the average students can also understand the topic and the attention to the class is maintained by the teachers there is the smart board I stalled recently which has been great for both teachers and students in respective way. The exams are held every 6 months and the whole 3-year course is divided into 6 semesters 6 months one semester the syllabus of each semester is adequate for one to prepare and give an exam. Yes, one can get a scholarship named svmcm provided by the West Bengal government whose eligibility is in class 12 and you have 60+ marks. The college fee is 5600 yearly and 400-500 payment for every semester exam
Internships Opportunities :
No, I haven't opted for any internship as I will be doing my articles as I am pursuing a CA course. You will get projects On Some semesters which will be guided by your concerned teacher and it will be done easily through the internet and your understanding.
Placement Experience :
There are not very often placements and internship opportunities in this college and if someone is Jio came for an internship this is only what I heard. As there are no placement and internship opportunities students have to go for off-campus or professional courses.
Campus Life :
The fest was held in my session of names Praichay 2k24 and it was in the winter months end of the year. And in the library, a few subject books may not be available but for whatever subject the books are available you will get an immense variety of books by different good authors. And college website is good and updates every detail timely.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.

Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.

There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
