- The infrastructure - being the old and heritage college, St. Stephen's College is surprisingly modern in respects to being a modern campus, it has all the amenities like ACs in all classrooms, Wi-Fi, Digital boards and so on. Along with that it also has dedicated internet resource center, hence making up for a comprehensive learning environment.
- The faculty include a wide range of old, seasoned and renowned professors at the same time it also includes new and young teachers who make up for a breath of fresh air in the campus. The faculty members here are very well qualified and learned and often present genuine interest and passion in their feilds of study, the average student to teaher ratio is 1:15 as often the lecture and tutorials are taken by separate members of faculty and hence the teachers are able to focus on the students individually and on a personal level.
Dislikes
- The college campus is OLD and you will feel it as there are certain parts of the campus that could use some renovation such as the washrooms and the common areas.
- The college being deeply rooted in history brings some of the traditions with it that could be challenging for some of the students for example the tradition of having Morning assemblies, but it has its own fun.
Remarks :
For me, choosing St. Stephen's college involves considering its reputation for academic excellence, including highly qualified faculty, diverse courses, and ample research opportunities. The campus offers both a sense of tradition and modern infrastructure, well-stocked libraries, labs, and extensive opportunities for extracurricular activities. All the admissions now happen through the CUET exam and interviews are only held for the Christian minority students.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Being a literature enthusiast I chose my English hons degree and the course curriculum, as prescribed by the university, is extensive, comprehensive and detailed, it provides various opportunities for the students to go further in their interests in their respective subjects and career choices. There is an abundance of reading and course material available at the college and e-library, which enhances one's understanding of the texts. The faculty at the college is highly qualified and makes some of the most boring topics into the most interesting and engaging lessons. the exams are held at the end of each semester once in Dec/Jan and the other in May/June. the difficulty levels are mild and if one does study a fair bit of the course material they become even more easy. The fees of the college are definitely on the higher side, but at the same time, they also offer several scholarships throughout the year to help students with weaker financial backgrounds.
Internships Opportunities :
The college provides internships extensively and to all of its students, the CPC sends out internship opportunities regularly and also helps students get placed effectively. many companies like volume9, Digital Ipsum, TATA 1mg, PeaceX and so on provide internship opportunities for students.
Placement Experience :
Various MNCs from all kinds of sectors visit our college every year for placements and it does indeed provide really good prospects for the students to get placed at good starting positions. The average package is around 8-10LPA.
Campus Life :
The college is a safe and inclusive place where people from all over the country with various skill sets and diverse backgrounds come together, it provides for an amazing opportunity to make real and irreplaceable friends and other social connections. The annual college fest "Harmony" takes place in February also most of the societies of the college hold their annual fests in Jan/Feb-mar/apr. The college library is laden with material, books, readings and so on along with that the college also provides access to thousands of e-books. The college also has excellent sports facilities with a dedicated sports centre and separate grounds for football and cricket.

The internship opportunities are mainly available for the commerce departments and many companies also come to offer internships here. For humanities departments to internships comes mainly from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and home ministry.

The placement cell is active. Companies like Agile Capital Services, Chegg, and Wipro visit. Eligibility requires 60%+ marks. Highest CTC offered is around 8 LPA and Average package is 4.5 LPA. Around 40-50% students get placed, while science graduates prefer higher studies (M.Sc / B.Ed). My plan is pursuing higher education and managing my student e-portfolio platform.

But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. I chose my course because I was interested in learning a business environment and management processes. Faculties are very well experienced and professional , and teaching methods are good. Term exams are held every 6 months and difficulty level is not very high .
Doing masters in political science from Daulat Ram college
Placement Experience :
Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.
