A senior from my school told me about this college. UWSB is more of a corporate office compared to any typical college. For admission I faced 2 rounds of Interviews, one was a simple PI round and the other one was an Extempore round, where they would give you any random topic to speak on for about 4-5 minutes. UWSB doesn’t have any specific criteria for admission, they just look for confidence and managerial personality. They also have a strict formal dress code.
I chose BBA because I am very interested in the business field and also because I want to pursue an MBA in the future. The faculty members are all very educated having done their masters and some are still pursuing their PhD, although their English speaking skills are not that good their teaching skills are good no doubt. Some teachers are really rude while some are very kind and helpful. The management of UWSB is very bad, it’s very disappointing. Our exams are held once every semester, that’s twice a year. Exams are held on the campus of Bidhannagar University every time for every student. We don’t have any internal exams but we do get various kinds of assignments, written and oral like giving presentations on given topics and answering on-the-spot questions. All the assignments are given group-wise as they encourage teamwork over individual work. UWSB charges 50k for each semester of the BBA course.
UWSB provides multiple internship opportunities for BBA and MBA students. However, I have not done any internship yet because I am in the second year of my BBA Honours degree and our college provides internship in the 3rd year of the course. For internships, our college allows us to work in companies like Dabur, Nestle, Parle, Bata, Linc, and more. UWSB also provides Live projects and Certificate courses for skill development.
Our college provides 100% placements. However, the placements are only for MBA students. MBA students get mentorship from the college itself and guidance to crack interviews. Students get placement in top companies like Calvin Klein, HDFC Bank, Exide, ITC, and others. 100% of Internships are given to even undergraduates. UWSB organizes Industry Visits for every student for their fieldwork development and learning.
UWSB doesn’t have a proper campus. Our whole campus fits on the 10th floor of the Infinity Benchmark building. It’s like a corporate office with centralized AC and projectors in each classroom for giving presentations. Although the building is on the grounds of Kolkata’s Times Square, it is quite an attractive spot. Our Principal organizes fun activities for students and teachers every year on the college floor itself. Activities like Tell A Tale, Pop Quiz, Sell the Product, and many more. We also have indoor games like carrom, table tennis, and chess and outdoor games like cricket, football, and tennis, which are organized on a turf. Every year our seniors organize the Fest, sponsored by many companies. The Fest includes an incredible competition in the fields of dancing, singing, Fashion, drama, storytelling, and many more.
Placement is I do not say that is very good but I would say that treatment is almost okay and that's up to you and lot of MNC companies came in our College group. There are internship opportunities industrial training like Euphoria ardent like this MNC and ideas
In this college we have five departments, civil, computer science, mechanical, electrical and mechanical respectively and the stops are very good and the faculties are highly qualified and they are about almost everyone is iitiab
Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies
Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.
Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
