- Faculty- As I said previously they are very well equipped with knowledge and helpful to the students. Moreover they are very Frank with everyone so students do not hesitate to ask their doubts and all. Although they speak in Bengali predominantly but they also can help the AIQ students In Hindi if they didn't understand something. Apart from matters of study they also help us in our others matters which they can solve easily
- Location - Though not located in proper Kolkata but it is only 30km from Kolkata . Connectivity is excellent. It takes 1.5 hrs approx by local train to reach howrah. And if one wants to go by bus it takes 1 hr to reach dharmatala. It's the best part that one could easily access the benefits of metro city nearby every weekend or alternatively. There are many places for recreation in Kolkata as well as for shopping. For example we can get any book in college street in Kolkata which is Asia's largest book Market. So there are benefits of having metro city around
Dislikes
- Infrastructure and campus life - Since it was a new college we knew that this would be a problem but 2 years after the opening of the college, our main academic campus is not built fully and we are waiting. There is no campus life for us. We live in hospital campus which is very small and there is no scope for outdoor sports here. Many things are prohibited in the current campus as it is hospital. There also a problem. For every small or big event we require permission of higher authority to organize the program. Considering these factors , our campus life is ruined for atleast 2 years
- Food and canteen - its has a poor quality of food . Since I am a vegetarian, north Indian veg food is not available. And variety of food is also not there. Most of the days we use to eat in the outside restaurants or dhabas.
Remarks :
Well first of all it's a government college so it is a prime factor for choosing the college. The marks which I got in NEET well this was the best govt college which I could have got. Certain good aspects include that it is located very near to Kolkata so it has very good connectivity. Another thing is that language is not a very big issue here. Though Bengali is predominant Hindi also works in college To get into this college you need to qualify NEET UG exam with a good mark within the cutoff range. After that admission process is simple and it requires a 10th and 12th marksheet, NEET scorecard as well as an admit card, valid ID proof, etc. I browsed all the information through the internet, and YouTube and then made a phone call in college to get information about the other processes at the time of admission.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course because I always aspired to be a doctor. Looking at the respect a doctor receives in society as well as the Nobel work he does. It was always a privilege for me to get admission to a medical college. The faculty including the professors, senior residents etc are very well qualified and have deep knowledge in their subjects. They teach through the hybrid method of blackboard plus presentation. They are very helpful and easily accessible to the students for any query. Exams are from time to time as per the NMC calendar and they are difficult but one can easily pass if he/she studies throughout the year. The scholarship is available for state quota students of about 60000 per year. The name of the scholarship is the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship.
Internships Opportunities :
An internship after 4.5 years of study is compulsory for each student to obtain the MBBS degree. Internship opportunity is provided by the government for which students get a stipend. It is mandatory and the duration is 1 year. We are posted in each department like medicine, surgery, ent, other, gynae, pedia etc for some time and we learn how to see patients and gain experience.
Placement Experience :
They are job opportunities after MBBS. One can opt for service in govt hospitals which pay around 50-60k each Or in private hospitals which have variable sources of income There are no companies in MBBS which give placements like in engineering My plans after pursuing an MBBS are to do post-graduation.
Campus Life :
Life at the campus is very boring. We don't have our academic campus now and are living on the hospital campus. So sports and extracurricular activities are almost nil. Infrastructure is very poor No fest or annual function is there in the college. Amogh is the fresher's party which is held for the juniors. Books are abundant in the library with a few journals. Classrooms are well equipped with projectors and computers. But there is no AC I have opted for a hostel and it is good, though it is on the hospital campus. Rooms are spacious and well-ventilated. Beds and mattresses are provided. Chair, Tables and almirah are also given. Cleaning of the rooms is done on alternate days by workers. Given the fee of the hostel is 144rs per annum it is an excellent hostel. The food in the canteen/ mess here is pathetic. We have to manage and eat from outside in the majority of cases. There is a student unit in our college which is politically active and which helps the students in our college.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

Placement Experience :
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
