A Glimpse of GCECT,Kolkata.
Remarks :
This College is a Government Engineering College in West Bengal. I looked for government engineering colleges reather than private colleges because I am more inclined to crack GATE exam and opt for Master's Degree rather than just simple taking a placement. I've heard that there's way more free time in government colleges compared to private colleges and that's why I preferred this over any other college in West Bengal. Also, I have a Keen interest on Computers and It's applications, coding that's why I took CSE here. Overall it's a good college.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The number of students per department of each year is just 40 which is why we all are like a family. Teachers are very supportive and they are highly qualified. Classrooms are basic and fulfills the necessities. Exams are conducted in college and papers are set and checked by the same teacher who teaches us as our college is an autonomous institution. Overall it's a nice experience.
Internships Opportunities :
I personally haven't opted for internships yet. But I'll be looking ahead for such opportunities. College doesn't help directly as such for getting internships but the students are motivated enough to get an internship on their own capabilities.
Placement Experience :
Placements are the best of Ceramic Technology Students. They have placement percentage of over 100% with many offered a Pre-Placement offer while doing their internships. For CSE/IT students, things are a bit different, there is no internship conducted by college itself unlike Ceramic Technology Students. We have to find internships on our own and regarding placements the recruitment percentage is almost 70% for CSE/IT students in Non-core sector. However most students opt for Master's in India or abroad and then opt a job. And My plan is also to get my Master's done in some prestigious institute after getting my Bachelor's from here.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fees are decently low because it's a government engineering college. For CSE it's ?6000 per semester. Scholarships like SVMCM can be applied and various schemes all over the year takes place. College also cuts the tuition fee of students who have lower economy background.
Campus Life :
The campus life is pretty good. We have an annual techfest called KarmaTek conducted in October and an annual techfest called Jagriti conducted in April. We also have various clubs like Coding club named Bytebonk,GDSC, Photography Club, Literature Club and so on. We have so many events organised every week. Library has plenty of books. Classrooms have projectors too. Tournament of Sports like Cricket and Football also chess takes place. These are run by the Student Welfare Association of our College
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel is not upto the mark. The intake is very limited and it's just 10 students per year which is way too less. Canteen is non functional as there is absolutely no catering services available so most students opts for Paying Guests or rent a flat instead.
Interview Experience :
We have to give an Competitive exam called WBJEE to get into this college. If one get a rank near to 4000 or less, he/she could have a high chance to get into the CSE department. There was no interview or Group Discussion whatsoever.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.

Placement Experience :
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
