BITS Goa Placements FAQs

Ques. How good are the placements at BITS Goa?

Ans. Students and alumni describe BITS Goa placements for CS/IS students as strong for both salary packages and job profiles, even though companies such as Google, Adobe, and Facebook do not visit the campus. They also note that this does not make a major difference because Google or Facebook usually hire only a very small number of exceptionally strong candidates. A common caution is that the average package published in newspapers or shared by the college is generally based on CTC, not the in-hand salary. Therefore, students should not judge offers only by seeing a CTC of 23.5 LPA or 18.5 LPA, as the company with the lower CTC may offer better long-term pay. For other branches, the situation is very different. Many students have to take IT jobs even if they do not prefer them because core companies are fewer, and core roles usually offer much lower packages than IT companies.

Ques. What is an honest review of BITS Goa Placements 2025?

Ans. As reported by students, IT placements at BITS Goa in 2024 were much better than the previous year, while ET stayed the same. Core mechanical and chemical companies saw a setback during the year. The placement statistics have been officially released, but they do not include PPO conversions.

Ques. How are the placements for mechanical students at BITS Goa?

Ans. Students and alumni say that for core mechanical placements, starting salaries are generally below par, except for some reputed MNCs such as SLB and Mercedes Benz. The number of good core companies visiting BITS Goa is still not close to what top IITs receive, and the BITS brand still has distance to cover in that area. However, the average package for mechanical students remains good because IT and non-core companies with higher pay also recruit them. Many mechanical students either are not interested in the subject or shift toward non-core options after seeing lower core packages.

If a student develops a real interest in mechanical engineering, there is a stronger chance of choosing a master's degree later. In that case, the college path may become very different from that of students focused mainly on placements. So, the choice should be made carefully.
