BITS Pilani is a Deemed to be University and was declared an Institute of National Importance under the BITS Pilani Act, 1964. Established in 2004, the Goa campus follows the same curriculum, academic framework and evaluation system as the Pilani campus. BITS Pilani has an NAAC A+ grade.
BITS Pilani secured the 11th position in the NIRF Engineering ranking for 2025. This is a combined institutional ranking, so BITS Goa does not receive a separate NIRF position. The Goa campus covers 180 acres in Zuarinagar, South Goa, near Vasco da Gama. Its facilities include separate hostels for male and female students, research resources and infrastructure for innovation. The annual hostel charge is up to INR 85,400.

Tuition and other charges bring the first-semester B.E. fee to INR 3.51 Lakhs. Fees for each later semester fall between INR 2.87 Lakhs and INR 3.15 Lakhs. Computer Science and Electrical and Electronics Engineering receive the strongest demand. Electronics and Computer Engineering and Mathematics and Computing Engineering combine subject areas and are designed for applicants interested in both disciplines.
Admission requirements depend on the level of study. B.E. (Hons) and integrated M.Sc. (Hons) applicants enter through BITSAT and the BITS Pilani iteration process. M.E. candidates can use GATE or the institute's own admission test, while Ph.D. selection includes a written examination and interview.
BITS Goa fills every B.E. (Hons) and integrated M.Sc. (Hons) seat through BITSAT scores. Class 12 marks are used only to check whether an applicant meets the eligibility conditions.
For BITSAT 2025, the closing scores at BITS Goa were 274 out of 390 for Computer Science, 243 for Electrical and Electronics Engineering and 233 for Mechanical Engineering. Environmental and Sustainability Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering generally close at lower scores.
An applicant seeking an M.E. (Hons) seat must have a B.E. or B.Tech degree in a relevant field. Selection uses either a valid GATE score or the separate BITS M.E. admission test conducted by BITS Pilani. The M.E. curriculum also includes a thesis and a Practice School component.
BITS Pilani opens its Ph.D. application cycle twice each year. Applicants with an M.E., M.Sc. or equivalent postgraduate qualification are eligible, and selection involves a written test followed by an interview. Selected scholars pursuing a full-time Ph.D. may receive research fellowships.

Practice School gives B.E. students two periods of industry experience. Practice School I lasts 5 weeks after Year 2, and Practice School II places students in industry for 6 months during Year 4. Employers taking part in PS II often make pre-placement offers, so this programme provides another recruitment path in addition to regular campus placements.

Read Full ReviewI chose msc bio because it is easier as compared to other Mac courses, and Mac courses gives us choose BE course in 2nd year based on cgpa. Every faculty is phd qualified from great institutions like iisc and many other foreign universities. Exams are conducted as mid sems and end sems with approx 2 quizzes each subject.
There are certain minimum cgpa barriers for sitting for particular companies. Top Recruiters: Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, etc. Average Package: ?20-25 LPA for CSE/IT; ?10-15 LPA for core branches. Highest Package: Over ?50 LPA (often for tech roles). Placement rate exceeds 95% for most branches. To continue doing job and do MBA after 5 to 6 year being employed.
Read Full ReviewComputer Science is the most sought after for obvious reasons. Faculty members here are very well educated and helpful, just that grading during the exams can be a bit harsh for some as it is relative and not absolute. Also, difficulty level of mid and end-semester examinations is good, quite an IIT level thing.
Student should have completed two practice schools, one at the end of 2nd year and other in one of the semesters of the final year. Also, there are minimum CG requirements which vary over time for sitting in certain interviews. Median package is around 23 lacs.
Read Full ReviewI am genuinely interested in Electronics department and chose this course because of that. The grading for this course at BITS Goa is very strict and therefore the grooming is better. The faculties are well qualified. There are frequent quizzes, a Mid Semester exam and the final Comprehensive exam each semester. Exams are of moderate to difficult levels and grading is relative.
There are internship opportunities for students available. They are called Practice School (PS) 1 & 2. Students generally get a PPO while doing the PS2. The placement offers are very good. Average package is around 20-25 lakh.
Read Full ReviewCourse curriculum is good and relevant to industry. The faculties are all Phd holders from prestigious institues all around the world and have good teaching experince. There are two major exams , midsems and comprehensive examinations with two quizzes as well. There may be some surprise components but it depends. The difficulty does not matter as such because the grading is done relatively.
The placement cell in the college is pretty active and works for the students to get them placed in best companies in the world. The strong netowrk of alumina also comes into play as they are placed in some of the big names of the world. The official data regarding the placements has not been disclosed to first year students yet.
Read Full ReviewThe CSE course is the most sought after course and provides the best opportunities The faculty teach properly and we even have tutorials classes scheduled where problem solving of the topics taught happens The exams have a very high difficulty level and for many courses the average score is single digits But due to relative grading this does not affect our CGPA very much.
Sorry not much about idea placements, I'm a first year But as far as I know the current placements are based on the CGPA system. Companies such as Google, Amazon come for on-campus placement a d take interviews. This year approximately 93-96% students who sit for placements recieve job offers
Read Full ReviewThe first year courses are basic courses 1 each from all the departments for overall development the maths physics chemistry biology courses are 12yh grade level with few new topics discussed. There are many exams with 1 evalative every month as there is relative grading the perceived difficulty is high. I chose my economics course because from it I can choose another bacholar degree like cs from I can venture into finance and tech at the same time which is very unique. The faculty to students ratio is 1:20 we have a defected teacher for each subject for every 30 students for each subject other than the main lecturer .The best faculties have been Suresh Kumar and Suman Kundu their online lectures have been very useful and informative. There are many exams we have 7 courses each having 2 quizes 1 mid sem and 1 comprehensive exam. The faculty are all highly qualified with atleast a PhD in premiere colleges like iit or bits and even proffessers from foreign universities come teach here.
The placements are very good because we have two compulsory internships called practice school to make us industry ready after the second year summer for 2 months and one semester in the 4th or 5th year placements start since 7th semester itself were most get offers in PPO thright the internships. 248 companies visited along with 631 students placed the average is 2083000 and median is 1650000. 76 percent of students got placed highest was 80lpa. I plan to get a job.
Read Full ReviewI chose this course as this is the course I was getting based on my BITSAT marks. All faculty's are well qualified and have done their masters from reputed institutions. Each sem we have 2 major exams, mid semester and end semester exams. They are well crafted.
