Course Curriculum Overview:

i belong to a family with agriculture background. And also this is a good option for students from Biology background. all the faculty members are Phd holders and teaching is done in class room, field and lab. every 6 months and the difficulty is average.

Remarks:

Its the only govt. agriculture in Jharkhand the exam i have to appear on is JCECE which is organise by state govt. the cut off depends on the number of aspirants. from youtube and NCERT books also from youtube channel name JCECE exam hub.

What I Liked

Some of the faculty members are highly qualified and has deep knowledge in their field and are motivational.
Each student gets a mentor who will guide you in academics, future career and every aspect related to college or even personal life.

What I didn’t like

The location of college is very remote and their are very less opportunities for us to go outside the campus.
The mess food is horrible. Doesn't taste good at all and we have to rely on other alternatives.

Placement Experience:

In our 7th semester, we have to do internships in industries which is a good experience. We can choose the industry by ourselves or else our course coordinator does it for us. The internship is for 2 months. The placement scenario is not that good. I can say 30-40% of students are only placed and the salary is not that good which is 3-4.5 LPA.

Remarks:

I wanted to pursue a Bsc Horticulture degree and this college was the best in Jharkhand state. I appeared for the JCECE exam which is a combined examination to take admission in B.Sc Agriculture and allied courses. It is a state-owned government college and follows all the guidelines of ICAR.

What I Liked

Faculties are highly knowledgeable and supportive towards students. They will guide you a lot for your future.
Campus life is also very enjoying here. In evening you can play different games or can go to library.

What I didn’t like

Infrastructure is very old of college but still renovation work is going on.
If any new professor joins college then initially, they give you very less marks in exams.

Placement Experience:

Every year small companies and NGO's come for placement. Banks like IDBI also come for placement with a decent package of 5 to 6 lakhs per annum though they hire very few students (4 to 6). Placement is not too good in this college. Most students prefer higher studies like M.Sc or MBA.

Remarks:

Birsa Agricultural University is the only state-run university in Jharkhand. It was established in the 1980s. Since the university is very old you will find most of the facilities available there. For the admission procedure, you need to secure a good rank in the JCECEB exam which is conducted every year between May to June. After qualifying for the exam and securing a good rank, you need to give the preferences of college you need as 12 colleges come under Birsa Agricultural University. Then according to your rank and preference, college is allotted to you. The exam syllabus is 11 and 12 PCM/PCB.
