Bundelkhand University was established on August 26, 1975, under the U.P Universities Act. Vide Government of Uttar Pradesh Notification No. 10/15-60/74. The University comprises 27 institutions of Higher Education with more than 100 inter and multidisciplinary programs at Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Doctoral levels across the state.

Bundelkhand University, Jhansi is recognized under section 12b of UGC (University Grants Commission). The courses offered by Bundelkhand university are approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education), Pharmacy Council of India, Medical Council of India (MCI), Bar Council, NCTE, Council of Architecture (COA), and other concerned agencies.

In arch 2017, The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) granted Bundelkhand University B++ accreditation. So far, only Bundelkhand university is the one to be re-accredited 3rd time by NAAC in the state.

Bundelkhand University admissions are done either on the basis of entrance exams or merit-based depending on the course. The following are the details for admission to Bundelkhand University.

  • The eligible candidates can apply for the course through online registration by visiting the official website of the university.
  • Apart from its own entrance exam which is known as Entrance Exam itself, the Bundelkhand University accepts the scores of other entrance exams namely- Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) Entrance Test for its B.Tech., National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) for its B.Arch courses
  • The Application fees for the entrance test is INR 1,100 for general category students and INR 550 for ST, SC category students.
  • The application fees for Direct Admission is INR 750 for general category students and INR 350 for ST, SC category students.
  • After the successful registration, the candidates who have applied for courses with entrance exam have to appear for the same along with the admit cards. Whereas the students with direct admission will be called for counseling and given the admission on basis of merit.

  • Innovation Center: it provides analytical facilities in the field of biological, chemical, and physical sciences. In order to promote R&D in the university and its affiliated colleges, Bundelkhand university established a central instrumentation facility. Some of the instruments are X-Ray Diffractometer, Gas Chromatograph Mass Spectrometer, Ultracentrifuge, Digital Imaging System, Multi-Mode Microplate Reader, Real-Time PCR, PQMS, Two Dimensional Gel Electrophoresis etc.
  • Hostels- For girls, there are three hostels namely P.G Women’s Hostel, Jalkari Bai’s girls hostel and working women hostel with capacities of 150, 300 and 24 each respectively. For boys there is Lord Buddha PG Boys Hostel with the capacity to accommodate more than 150 boys.
  • Library- The central library with a seating capacity of 150 (approx) has great quality of books, journals and magazines for its students to refer to. There are 1,48,302 books for various subjects and streams.
  • Sports- With a view to promote student’s interest in sports, the university has a huge sports ground, an indoor stadium, swimming pool and a gymnasium.
