However, in the Lateral course candidates are enrolled directly into the second year instead of the first year. Lateral courses save a year of the students and the first year of most of the courses deal with the study of topics taught in 12th standard.

Ques. What is the exam pattern of JEE Mains?

Ans. The exam pattern is as follow:-

  1. JEE Mains is an online (Computer based) entrance test in which there are questions, most of the time numericals, from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  2. From each section, 25 questions are asked out of which the first 20 questions are multiple choice questions (MCQs)
  3. The last 5 questions are integer type questions.
  4. For each correct answer 4 marks are rewarded and for each wrong answer there is a negative marking of -1.
  5. However, in the integer type questions, there is no negative marking.
