BESC Admission FAQs

Ques. What method does BESC use to select students?

Ans. BESC does not use an entrance test. Marks in the qualifying examination decide admission, such as Class XII scores for undergraduate courses. For B.Com. (Hons.), an applicant needs a 50% overall score with 45% in the relevant subject, or 55% in that subject at the +2 level.

Ques. What is the maximum study gap accepted for BESC admission?

Ans. More than three years must not have passed since the last qualifying examination, and the admission year is counted in this period. A student is also ineligible after discontinuing a recognised course during the gap following Class 12.

Ques. Which payment channel is used for the BESC application fee?

Ans. The application fee must be paid online through Federal Bank, as no other payment option is accepted. BESC does not take cash or require applicants to submit a printed form or payment receipt.

Ques. Is it possible to submit applications for several BESC courses?

Ans. Yes. A separate form and application fee are needed for every course. Students must also satisfy each course's requirements, which may differ, such as a 60% aggregate for BBA Hons. and 55% in the relevant subject for B.Sc. Hons.

Ques. How does BESC notify students selected through the merit list?

Ans. BESC posts the merit list on its official website. Selected applicants also receive an SMS and email through their registered mobile number and email address. Students should check the website and their messages regularly so that they do not miss an update or deadline.

Ques. What happens to the paid amount if a confirmed admission is cancelled?

Ans. A confirmed admission may be cancelled. Any refund follows UGC rules and timelines, and cancelling earlier improves the chance of receiving a partial refund. Application and registration fees are usually not refundable.

Ques. Where can applicants get help while completing the online form?

Ans. The official website provides step-by-step application guidance. During the admission period, BESC also operates a dedicated helpdesk, and students may use the email address or contact numbers shown on the website.
