BESC has not yet published its Placement Report 2025. NIRF figures for the three academic years from 2021-22 to 2023-24 show the placement results for its UG and PG programmes.

UG outcomes improved during this period. In 2023-24, 110 of 1507 graduates were placed, giving a placement rate of 7.30% and a median salary of INR 1.84 LPA. PG results remained low, with only 2 students placed from 2021-22 to 2023-24 and no PG placements in the last two academic years.

Both UG placement participation and salary results rose across the three reported academic years. The median salary increased from INR 1.81 LPA in 2021-22 to INR 1.84 LPA in 2023-24.

The number of placed students also grew from 63 to 110. As a result, the placement rate climbed from 1.95% in 2021-22 to 7.30% in 2023-24. The latest year recorded better placement figures than both 2022-23 and 2021-22.

BESC PG Placement

No PG student was placed in 2023-24, although 25 students graduated that year. The same result was recorded in 2022-23, when none of the 17 graduates secured placement.

The strongest PG outcome among the three reported years came in 2021-22. Of 63 graduates, 2 students were placed at a median salary of INR 5.38 LPA, producing a placement rate of 3.17%.

BESC Placement Review

Garv Bhagat, B.Com (Hons.)

Garv Bhagat stated that placement eligibility begins in Semester 6. Many companies join the placement drive, and 70-80% of students secure placements. Alongside his B.Com (Hons.) degree, he is pursuing Chartered Accountancy and plans to start his CA Final journey after graduating from BESC.

Ques. Which types of companies hire BESC students?

Ans. BESC has previously attracted recruiters from finance, marketing, consulting, IT services and start-ups. The participating employers mainly include mid-sized businesses and selected corporate organisations that offer entry-level jobs suitable for commerce and arts graduates.

Ques. What placement preparation does BESC provide?

Ans. BESC runs a dedicated placement cell. It supports students through career counselling, resume-writing workshops, practice interviews and soft-skills training. These activities help students prepare for interviews and develop the skills required for a competitive job market.

Ques. How are the placement opportunities at BESC?

Ans. Placement prospects differ across streams. Students from B.Com, M.Com and BBA generally have a good chance of securing jobs. Opportunities are limited for most Arts and Science students, apart from those studying Computer Science Honours.

BESC conducts a campus recruitment drive each year, generally during April and May. Students from every department may participate from Semester 3 onward.

Commerce students receive focused placement assistance, and recruiters such as TCS hire regularly. Students can also take diploma and skill-development courses while completing their degrees to strengthen their employment prospects.

Most Arts and Science students do not secure placements because they often lack skills linked to specific industries. Computer Science students have better outcomes due to their coding and technical abilities. Students outside Computer Science can improve their prospects by learning coding, following employment trends and developing relevant skills.
