Undergraduate Admission: BE at AIT Bangalore
BE students at AIT Bangalore can choose from 15 branches: CSE, AI and ML, Data Science, ECE, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Biotechnology, Mechatronics, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, and Information Science. Each branch has VTU affiliation and AICTE approval. The regular BE course lasts 4 years; diploma holders can enter the 3-year lateral entry programme.
Academic and Entrance Requirements
To apply, students need a Class 12, PUC or equivalent qualification with English, Physics and Mathematics. They must also have studied Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science or Electronics. These are the 2026 fees. The regular BE annual amount includes tuition of INR 3,02,000 and other charges of INR 47,320. Students joining through KCET government quota seats pay a separate fee set under the Karnataka Fee Regulatory Committee. Hostel charges are separate from course fees, and the amount depends on the room and sharing arrangement.
How to Join Through KCET
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) handles government quota counselling at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. This route is available to Karnataka residents who qualify in KCET.
- Create a registration on the KEA portal and upload the required documents.
- Enter college and branch choices online, placing them in the preferred order.
- Check the seat assigned through counselling and accept the allotment.

Karnataka PGCET is the main admission route, including for government quota seats. For management quota admission, the institute also accepts KMAT Karnataka, MAT and CMAT scores.

Steps for Karnataka PGCET Counselling
KEA manages PGCET seat allocation through its PGCET portal. Students who qualify must complete these steps:
- Register on the KEA PGCET portal and upload the documents.
- Enter college and programme choices in order of preference.
- Check the allotment and accept the assigned seat.
- Pay the admission fee within the specified period to secure the seat.
The process has 2 main rounds and an extra round for seats that remain vacant. Applicants without a PGCET score can still seek management quota admission using a valid KMAT Karnataka, MAT or CMAT score.

I had applied for KCET and COMEDK through which any person can get admission through this getting and govt seat. Students can get direct admission through management quota. The main factors for considering it: It has a huge Campus,College life and exposure to many curriculum and extra curricular activities.
