Cyber Security, Data Science and AI, and AI and ML are among the newer branches connected with growing demand in Andhra Pradesh’s IT sector. SVECW can revise its curriculum independently because it is autonomous and does not have to wait for JNTUK curriculum changes. Applicants selecting web options for AP EAPCET must use institution code VISW.

SVECW Admission Process

Women seeking admission to SVECW must follow the entrance exam and APSCHE counselling route prescribed for their programme. The institute does not hold its own B.Tech entrance examination.

Regular B.Tech Admission

  • Students must pass 10+2 from a recognised board with Physics and Mathematics, along with Chemistry, Biotechnology, or Biology. The required PCM aggregate is 45%, reduced to 40% for SC, ST, and BC applicants.
  • Applicants must take AP EAPCET, which JNTUK conducts for APSCHE.
  • The process includes registering at cap.apcfss.in, completing certificate verification, entering web options with college code VISW, accepting the allotted seat, and reporting to the SVECW campus for document checks and fee payment.
  • Management quota applicants can register directly at the SVECW campus in Bhimavaram after AP EAPCET results are declared.

SVECW sets its own internal examination, evaluation, and grading system under its autonomous status. Students receive a JNTUK degree after completing the programme.

B.Tech Lateral Entry Admission

  • Applicants need a diploma in the relevant engineering branch with at least 45%. The minimum is 40% for SC, ST, and BC candidates.
  • Admission is based on AP ECET and APSCHE lateral-entry counselling conducted through cets.apsche.ap.gov.in.
  • Selected diploma holders join B.Tech directly in the second year.

Postgraduate Admission

  • For M.Tech, applicants need a relevant B.Tech degree with at least 50%. Admission uses a GATE score, which is preferred, or PGECET through APSCHE postgraduate engineering counselling.
  • MBA applicants must have a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% and qualify for AP ICET before joining APSCHE MBA counselling.

SVECW FAQs

Ques. Can male students apply to SVECW?

Ans. No. Shri Vishnu Engineering College for Women admits only women. This restriction applies to every undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programme offered by the institute.

Ques. How is the SVECW AP EAPCET cutoff decided?

Ans. Branch, applicant category, counselling round, and admission year affect the closing rank. CSE, AI/ML, and Data Science usually have the strongest competition. Admission uses AP EAPCET ranks through APSCHE counselling, and applicants must select institution code VISW while filling web options. Category-wise closing ranks are published after counselling rounds at cap.apcfss.in.

Ques. How much does the complete SVECW B.Tech programme cost?

Ans. The four-year B.Tech fee is INR 4,20,000, or INR 1,05,000 per year. All 9 B.Tech branches have the same fee. Hostel accommodation is charged separately at INR 80,000 to INR 1,38,000 per year.

Ques. Is accommodation available on the SVECW campus?

Ans. Yes. SVECW is mainly a residential institute and provides hostels for women students. Annual charges range from INR 80,000 to INR 1,38,000 according to the room type and meal plan. This facility supports students coming from other districts and states.

Ques. What results has SVECW reported for campus placements?

Ans. In 2025, 71 companies made 1,156 offers, and the highest offer was INR 21 LPA. The 2024 season produced 818 offers, a highest package of INR 41.5 LPA, and an average package of INR 6.46 LPA. CSE, IT, and AI/ML students receive a large share of the campus offers.

Ques. What does SVECW’s autonomous status mean for students?

Ans. SVECW remains affiliated with JNTUK but prepares its own curriculum and conducts its own examinations and grading. Students receive a JNTUK degree after completing their programme. This autonomy also allows the institute to add current industry practices to coursework more quickly than non-autonomous JNTUK-affiliated colleges.
