Ques. If I missed the CUET UG registration window, can I still apply for Lakshmibai College admission 2026 through a reopen window?

Ans. Yes, it may still be possible if the CUET UG reopen registration window is used correctly. The CUET authority sometimes reopens the form for students who missed the original deadline. However, it is important to note that Lakshmibai College does not accept direct applications. Admission happens only through the DU CSAS portal after CUET results are declared. A valid CUET score and correct CSAS registration are both mandatory. Missing the CSAS step even after qualifying CUET will result in no seat being allotted.

Ques. Is the CUET PG score alone sufficient for PG admission at Lakshmibai College, or is a separate DU counselling registration also required?

Ans. The CUET PG score alone is not sufficient. After appearing for CUET PG, candidates must also register on the University of Delhi CSAS PG portal. Seat allotment is based on the CUET score, category, college preferences, and seat availability. Colleges do not conduct separate interviews. If the CSAS registration is not completed, even a high CUET score will not result in admission.

Ques. I am from the Science stream. Can I apply for BA or B.Com at Lakshmibai College?

Ans. Yes, students from the Science stream can apply for BA and B.Com programs. Subject eligibility depends on the CUET subject combination chosen and the University of Delhi's eligibility rules. Mathematics is useful for B.Com but is not always compulsory. Stream changes are permitted in many cases under DU norms. Many Science students opt for Humanities programs for UPSC or MBA preparation. It is always advisable to check the specific eligibility criteria before filling in course preferences to avoid rejection.

Ques. Does Lakshmibai College offer scholarships or fee concessions for economically weaker or reserved category students?

Ans. Yes, the college provides scholarships and fee relaxations as per University of Delhi and government norms. SC, ST, OBC, and EWS students are eligible for benefits provided their documents are in order. Several central and state government scholarship schemes are also available. Students must apply for these scholarships separately after completing admission. Scholarships are not applied automatically, and delays in form submission can result in students missing out on the benefits.

Lakshmibai College Admission 2026

Lakshmibai College admits students to both UG and PG programs through the CUET exam and the University of Delhi CSAS system. The entire admission process is conducted online and is based solely on entrance exam scores. No direct admission or management quota is available. The eligibility criteria and step-by-step admission process are described below.

UG Eligibility

  • Candidates must have passed Class 12 (10+2) from any recognised board.
  • Reserved category students are eligible for relaxation as per DU norms.
  • A valid CUET UG score is mandatory for UG admission.
  • Seats are allotted through the CSAS portal based on CUET marks and preferences.

PG Eligibility

  • Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognised university.
  • Reserved category students are eligible for relaxation as per DU norms.
  • A valid CUET PG score is required for PG admission.

Mode of Selection

  • Admission is entirely based on the CUET score (UG or PG).
  • Seat allotment is carried out through the DU CSAS online system in multiple rounds.
  • There is no direct admission or management quota.
  • Candidates must fill in their course and college preferences on the CSAS portal.

DU CSAS Application Fee

  • UR / OBC-NCL / EWS: INR 250 (non-refundable)
  • SC / ST / PwBD: INR 100 (non-refundable)

(This fee applies uniformly to all DU colleges, including Lakshmibai College.)

Subject to revision. Kindly check with the official sources to confirm.

Admission Process: Step by Step

Step 1: Appear for the CUET Exam

Candidates must appear for the CUET UG or CUET PG exam in the same year they wish to seek admission. A valid CUET score is the first and most essential requirement for applying to any DU college, including Lakshmibai College.

Step 2: Register on the DU CSAS Portal

After CUET results are declared, candidates must register on the University of Delhi CSAS portal. Personal and academic details need to be filled in carefully. CUET scores are automatically linked to the portal.

Step 3: Upload Documents

Candidates must upload all required documents, including mark sheets, certificates, and category certificates (if applicable). Incomplete or unclear documents may lead to rejection of the application.

Step 4: Fill Course and College Preferences

Candidates must select their preferred courses and colleges in the correct order on the CSAS portal. Lakshmibai College must be added in the right position in the preference list. Incorrect preference ordering can affect seat allotment.

Step 5: Seat Allotment

CSAS conducts seat allotment in multiple rounds. Allotment is based on CUET marks, eligibility, and the preferences filled by the candidate. Students can accept the allotted seat or wait for the next round for a possible upgrade. Seat allotment depends on vacancy, preference changes, and the DU algorithm.

Step 6: Accept Seat and Pay Fees

After a seat is allotted, candidates must accept it online and pay the admission fees before the specified deadline. Failure to pay fees on time will result in automatic cancellation of the seat, and it cannot be recovered.

Step 7: Document Verification

After fee payment, some colleges may require students to visit in person for physical document verification. If documents are found to be incorrect or missing, admission may be cancelled.

Step 8: Join College

In the final step, students join Lakshmibai College, collect their ID card if required, and begin attending classes from the date specified by the college.

Note: DU may also conduct additional rounds or a mop-up round to fill vacant seats. These rounds may be based on CUET scores or Class 12 marks, depending on seat availability and the University's decision.

Ques. I belong to a reserved category but have a low CUET score. Can the category cutoff still help me get admission at Lakshmibai College?

Ans. Yes, category cutoffs are lower than the General category cutoff and can be helpful. However, they do not guarantee a seat in every case. The cutoff for each category depends on the number of applicants and the availability of seats. Even with a reservation benefit, the CUET score must meet the minimum eligible range for that category. Preference order and the round of allotment also play an important role in the final seat allotment outcome.

Ques. Is a migration certificate or gap year affidavit required at the time of CSAS registration, or only after seat confirmation at Lakshmibai College?

Ans. These documents are generally not required at the initial CSAS registration stage. After seat allotment or during physical document verification, the college may ask for a migration certificate if the candidate's previous board was not CBSE. A gap year affidavit is required only if a gap exists in the academic record and the college specifically asks for it. Candidates need not panic at the early stages, as these documents can usually be arranged within the time given by the college.

Lakshmibai College Cutoff 2026

The CUET-based cutoffs for Lakshmibai College reflect strong competition across most programs. In 2025, BA (Hons.) Psychology recorded the highest cutoff at 790 to 795 marks, followed by B.Com (Hons.) at 752 to 694 marks. BA (Hons.) Economics ranged between 678 and 746, while BA (Hons.) English had a cutoff of 650 to 651. Lower cutoffs were seen in BA (Hons.) Sanskrit at 178 to 301 and B.Sc (Hons.) Home Science at 406 to 342. The tables below present the complete course-wise cutoff data for both UG and PG programs.

Lakshmibai College CUET PG Cutoff 2025

Among PG programs, MA Political Science had the highest cutoff at 224 marks in Round 1 and 210 marks in Round 3, making it the most competitive PG course. MA Philosophy had a cutoff of 150 in Round 1 and 137 in Round 3. MA Sanskrit had the lowest cutoff at 98 marks and had no Round 3 data available.

Course Round 1 (Closing Marks) Round 3 (Closing Marks)
MA Political Science 224 210
MA Philosophy 150 137
MA Sanskrit 98 -

Ques. Do cutoffs at Lakshmibai College typically go up or come down in later rounds?

Ans. Cutoffs do not always decrease in later rounds. In many cases, they remain stable or even increase, depending on demand. If high-scoring candidates withdraw their seats, the cutoff for that round may drop slightly. However, for popular courses, cutoffs tend to stay high or rise. Waiting for later rounds hoping for easier entry can be risky. The final outcome depends on seat vacancy, preference changes by other candidates, and the DU allotment algorithm, which is not fully predictable.

Ques. Does CUET normalisation affect the cutoff, and is there a big difference between the raw score and the normalised score for Lakshmibai College admission?

Ans. Yes, only the normalised score is used for admission, not the raw marks. CUET uses normalisation because the exam is conducted in multiple shifts, and difficulty levels may vary. A student may have a high raw score but a lower normalised score depending on the shift. The cutoff is always based on the normalised marks shown on the CUET scorecard. This is why comparing scores with friends from different shifts can sometimes be misleading.

Lakshmibai College Placements 2026

The Lakshmibai College Placement Report for 2025 has not been published yet. Based on the NIRF 2025 Overall Report, the median salary for 3-year UG students was INR 3.60 LPA, while for 2-year PG students it was INR 4.03 LPA. A total of 40 UG students and 2 PG students were placed as per the NIRF data. Key recruiters include Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), PlanetSpark, Okaya, Square Yards, and Crownit, among others.

Particulars Details
Median Package (3-Year UG Program) INR 3.60 LPA
Total Students Placed (UG) 40
Median Package (2-Year PG Program) INR 4.03 LPA
Total Students Placed (PG) 2
Major Recruiters Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), PlanetSpark, Okaya, Square Yards, and Crownit

Ques. Are placement opportunities at Lakshmibai College available only for Commerce students, or do Arts students also get recruited?

Ans. Placement opportunities are open to both Arts and Commerce students, though the nature of roles differs. Commerce students typically get offers in sales, finance, and analyst roles. Arts students are placed in areas such as content writing, teaching, research, HR, and edtech. The placement cell provides support, but individual effort matters significantly. Skills, internship experience, and communication ability often carry more weight than the degree stream alone.

Ques. Are off-campus placements more common than on-campus at Lakshmibai College, and should students rely entirely on college placements?

Ans. Off-campus placements are more common at Lakshmibai College. On-campus recruitment is limited in terms of both the number of companies and available seats. Many students secure jobs through platforms like LinkedIn and Internshala, or through referrals and personal networking. While the college placement cell is helpful, it does not guarantee a job. Students who build additional skills, complete internships, and actively network tend to have better outcomes in the long run.

Lakshmibai College Rankings 2026

Lakshmibai College performs strongest in the Arts category across major ranking agencies. In the NIRF Rankings 2025, it was placed in the 151-200 band in the Overall category. The India Today Rankings 2025 placed it at 35th in Arts, 42nd in Commerce, and 47th in Science. Commerce and Science received moderate rankings in comparison to Arts. The table below provides a complete overview of the college's rankings across different agencies and categories.

Ranking Agency Category Rank (2025)
NIRF Overall 151 - 200
India Today Arts 35
Commerce 42
Science 47

Ques. Different agencies show different rankings for Lakshmibai College. Which ranking is more relevant for admission or career purposes?

Ans. No single ranking is the complete picture on its own. NIRF rankings are primarily used for government reference and broad institutional comparison. India Today rankings are more stream-specific and student-oriented. It is important to note that admission to DU colleges does not depend on rankings at all. It is based entirely on the CUET score and CSAS counselling. For career outcomes, subject knowledge, practical skills, and college exposure matter more than the ranking number alone.

Ques. Does Lakshmibai College's Arts ranking help students preparing for MA entrance exams or competitive exams like UPSC?

Ans. A good Arts ranking reflects a strong academic environment, quality faculty, and a peer group that can support exam preparation indirectly. Seminars, subject depth, and faculty guidance can be helpful for MA or competitive exam preparation. However, admission to MA programs still depends on the CUET PG score, not the college's ranking. Success in competitive exams like UPSC depends primarily on self-study and consistent preparation. The college environment provides a supportive base, but it does not guarantee selection.

  • The college has sports facilities for cricket, football, basketball, and athletics.

Student Amenities

  • Drinking water facilities and a common room are available for student use.
  • Several student societies and clubs organise cultural, academic, and co-curricular activities throughout the year.

Ques. Is the Lakshmibai College campus safe for girls, and are proper security arrangements in place?

Ans. The campus is generally considered safe. Security guards are posted at the entry gate, and entry by outsiders without permission is not allowed. College hours are primarily during the day, which further reduces safety concerns. CCTV cameras are installed in several areas across the campus. Most students feel comfortable on campus. As with any public space, students are advised to remain alert. The surrounding area is also considered student-friendly and accessible.

Ques. Are PG accommodations and rental rooms easily available near Lakshmibai College, and what is the average monthly cost?

Ans. Yes, PG accommodations and rental rooms are readily available near the college. Many students opt for shared PG facilities or shared flats. The average monthly cost ranges from INR 8,000 to INR 15,000, depending on the room type and whether meals are included. PG options within walking distance of the college tend to be priced slightly higher. Students are advised to visit the accommodation in person before finalising, as online listings may not always accurately reflect the actual condition of the room.

All three are women's colleges and admit students through CUET scores and DU CSAS counselling. Lakshmibai College is known for its active campus life, strong academics, and affordable fees. Miranda House is recognised for its academic reputation and research culture. LSR stands out for its strong industry connections and placement record. Lakshmibai College FAQs 2026

Ques. Is attendance strictly monitored at Lakshmibai College, and can students manage coaching or internships alongside regular classes?

Ans. Yes, a minimum attendance requirement exists and must be met to be eligible for the exam form. In practice, many students do manage coaching classes or internships alongside their college schedule. Some departments are stricter about attendance than others. Very low attendance can negatively affect internal marks. Students generally balance their commitments by prioritising important lectures and practical sessions. Proper time management is essential, as attendance-related issues tend to surface most during exam time.

Ques. Are Lakshmibai College students allowed to take part in DU inter-college events and competitions outside the college?

Ans. Yes, students are encouraged to participate in inter-college events, DU fests, debates, sports, and other competitions. The college supports cultural and academic exposure beyond the campus. In some cases, teacher permission may be required if an event conflicts with scheduled classes. Participation in such activities helps students build confidence, develop new skills, and strengthen their overall profile.

Ques. Is Lakshmibai College a good choice for students who want to prepare for UPSC, SSC, or other government exams alongside their degree?

Ans. Yes, Lakshmibai College is a reasonable option for students who plan to prepare for government exams alongside their degree. Humanities subjects like Political Science, History, and Sociology have significant overlap with the UPSC and SSC syllabi. The college environment is generally supportive, though there is no official coaching provided. Most students preparing for competitive exams join nearby coaching centres or follow online preparation alongside their regular coursework. Good time management is key to balancing both effectively.

Ques. How much do internal assessment marks matter in the final result at Lakshmibai College?

Ans. Internal assessment carries significant weight in the University of Delhi grading system. Assignments, class tests, presentations, and attendance all contribute to the internal marks. Even if a student's semester-end exam performance is average, strong internal marks can help maintain a good overall grade. Many students underestimate internals and face difficulties later. Submission deadlines set by teachers are generally strict. Maintaining a consistent balance between internal work and semester exam preparation is the most effective approach.

Ques. Is campus life at Lakshmibai College enjoyable, or does it feel dull compared to colleges like Miranda House or LSR?

Ans. Campus life at Lakshmibai College is active and enjoyable, though it is different from the experience at top-ranked DU colleges. Student societies are functional, and events, fests, and seminars are held regularly throughout the year. The level of exposure may be somewhat less than at LSR or Miranda House, but students who are proactive and engaged tend to have a fulfilling college experience. The quality of one's college life often depends more on personal initiative and the friendships built than on the college's ranking alone.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well, if you appear for CUET, you will have to fill in your preferences. I also did the same, where I chose Political Science, History, and English. Although Political Science was my priority, I got History in this college in the second round. Talking about teaching methods, they are good. Teachers provide notes for everything, and the department is quite good compared to other colleges. Term exams are conducted twice a year, as there are two semesters in a year. At the end of each semester, there are final exams. Apart from that, internal exams are conducted by teachers, which include class tests, presentations, and assignments, all of which carry marks.

Remarks:

I have given Cuet exam which is used for admission to Delhi University. In this college, admission is based on your CUET score, and according to my score, I was allotted this college. The infrastructure is good, but some things, like the bathrooms and the canteen, are not that great, which is a common issue in most DU colleges. Talking about the cutoff it is based on your category SC/ST and OBC get more benefits. Along with that your CUET score also matters. I scored around 400, so I got this college. Being in a reserved category has more advantages because many of my friends are from the general category, and even though they scored around 600, they were still allotted this college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I had always wanted to chose this course as I wish to pursue my career in this field itself. The cut off for this course is quite high but I managed to get a decent college. The faculty of our Department is very friendly and helpful. They provide proper notes and PPTs which help us in our exams. This is a 3-4 year course with 6-8 semester respectively (depending on your preference)

Remarks:

I cleared the CUET examination to become eligible to take admission in this college. I prepared well and studied my 12th syllabus thoroughly as it was in the syllabus of CUET. It was a pretty difficult task to sit and clear the exam. Although the overall the process was hectic and time taking but it was worth the wait. The college is great in terms of infrastructure and faculty

Course Curriculum Overview:

Faculty is good and approachable. I chose economics purely because of my love for the subject. The exams were conducted regularly and ranged from moderate to difficult. The course is rigorous as compared to other courses in delhi university but the kind of books we've been made to read have contributed to strong conceptual foundation.

Placement Experience:

No one was placed from our batch. Infact Wings, the placement community kind of got dissolved when I was in my second year. I don't think any course saw any kind of placements or internships from college. Given that it is not a main campus college, the lack of brand name was a difficulty when we went out looking for good internships.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum for this academic semester is hectic and ill planned. The faculty however is well read and knowledgeable. The term exams adhere to the University of Delhi guidelines and are held timely twice an academic year. The exam difficulty ranges from moderate to tough.

Placement Experience:

The intership/placement cell is inactive in Lakshmibai College. This is a major concern since the intership/placement cell is a must at every college and the lack of it toys with the future possibilities of employment.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well my department which is department of commerce is really good and i even like it. I don't know much about other department so can't say the same for them. The faculty aside from everything is really helpful.

Placement Experience:

There are many internship opportunities available for the students but the college doesn't provide placements. Intership opportunities are there with bugger institution and companies which gives us students insight on the real world.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I opted this course because i am a commerce student and I want to be an accountant. Many of my faculty have a degree of PhD and they have good experience of teaching but on the other hand some teacher do not have a good teaching method . We are not able to connect with them which create barriers between us. It also create mess for student because they do not understand what the teacher is teaching. Exam are conduct on time but the time gap between 2 semester is short it becomes difficult for student to complete the course and then prepare for the examination.

Placement Experience:

Our campus don't have any placement cell. After completing my degree I will add some more skills and enhance my overall performance and capabilities and then i will apply for corporate sector jobs for the post of accountant.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am 2nd Year Computer Science major students with Economics as minor subject. I got this course through my preference I Have chosen. However the Computer Science Department have 3 teachers and there are around 150 students in total from semester 5,3,1 . The faculty is highly educated and who have a good teaching sense. we learn many aspects of life not just the books but for life competitions. There teaching methods put our mind at ease as we could get good numbers they have there easy way to teach to make our understanding better whereas the curriculum of Computer Science guidelines are quite similar to the Bsc students we do need to study the same as them if we choose computer science major. The exam are pretty easy if you study before hand as it is 3 hours exams and with practical exams too

Remarks:

For admission in the colleges under Delhi University you have to give CUET with the cutoff 400-500. The admission process was straightforward after clearing the entrance exam, I had the opportunity to choose my own college preferences. There is no group discussion or interview involved which made process at ease. good aspect is that Lakshmibai College has a peaceful environment. The college offers a calm atmosphere where everything moves at steady and unhurried pace. the campus greenery and open space makes it ideal place for students to study without distraction. bad aspects may be college faces some challenges in terms of facilities somtimes. there are occasional issues with washrooms water supply and overall cleanliness which could be improved overall Lakshmi Bai college is the mixed balance of academics and co-curricular activities set in a serene environment that nurtures both personal and intellectual
