As per the official authority, ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education, the selection briefings will be from January 10 to January 19, 2025. Candidates after clearing the cutoff will be eligible for the further rounds of the selection process. The selection process for MBA/PGPM courses will be from February 15 to February 24, 2025, at IBS Hyderabad.

The selection process includes two rounds: Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). Candidates are expected to deliver a concise talk that show their communication and presentation skills, as well as their ability to think on their feet and structure their thoughts effectively. Each candidate will select one topic from a set of three. They will have 4 minutes to complete the task—1 minute for preparation and 3 minutes for the presentation. The interview is a critical part of the evaluation, focusing on the candidate's attitude, communication skills, and clarity of thought. The final merit list will be released by authorities based on a composite score prepared on GD & PI scores and past academic records.

What Is IBSAT Selection Briefing?

Candidates who will successfully qualify IBSAT exam 2024 will be shortlisted for the further stages of the selection process. The briefing will be conducted at 70+ locations in major cities and towns in India. For this, candidates will be called for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds which will take place at IBS Hyderabad campus. Candidates must appear for the GD & PI rounds and will be barred from further admission procedures.

For the final selection of candidates; the past academic records, and performance in GD and PI will be considered. Candidates are advised to take admission on due dates in the allotted institution.

What Are The Stages of IBSAT Selection Process?

Given below are the four main steps of the Selection Procedure.

Stage 1: Selection Briefings

  • Before the selection process, IBS conducts selection briefings in several cities across the country.
  • They are conducted to provide the right information and guidance to candidates.
  • In the selection briefings, the experts from IBS answer all queries of candidates and also provide useful tips for GD & PI preparation.
  • A selection is divided into three parts –
  1. About IBS
  2. Briefing on the Selection Process
  3. Questions & Answers
  • Candidates can choose the venue, date, and time of the selection briefing.
  • Candidates who will clear the entrance examination will be invited for selection briefings.
  • After the briefings, the process of GD & PI will start.

Stage 2: Group Discussion

  • After selection briefings, selected candidates will be invited for a GD round at the concerned IBS campus.
  • In this round, candidates are divided into groups of 8-10 (depending on the committee) and each group is given a topic to discuss among themselves for 15-20 minutes.
  • Other than current affairs, candidates should read newspapers and business magazines daily and also practice some common topics which help the candidate to clear the group discussion round.
  • GD is used to assess aspirant based on their leadership skills, communication skills, tactfulness, problem-solving abilities, and ability to stay focused and get the task done in the designated time.

Stage 3: Personal Interview

  • Candidates who have successfully cracked the GD are called for the final selection round i.e. personal interview.
  • Personal interviews are designed to assess aspirant’s confidence, thought clarity, and interpersonal & soft skills.
  • Personal Interview duration depends totally on the aspirant’s answers.
  • The shortlisted aspirants must appear for all the tests of GD & PI rounds to be eligible for the Admission Procedure.

STAGE 4: Admission

  • Based on the final selection result, candidates have to take admission in one of the nine IBS Business Schools as per their cutoff and final selection criteria.

What After IBSAT Selection Process?

After the completion of the selection procedure, authorities will release the final merit list of selected candidates. Based on the candidate's overall performance in GD, PI and academics, the concerned IBS will declare the final result tentatively in March 2025.

  • Go to the official website that is, ibsindia.org
  • Click on the tab 'Selection Process Result'.
  • Next, you will be directed to the login page.
  • Enter your login credentials.
  • The screen will now display the final result for admission.
  • Save and take the print of the same for the counselling round.
