IIT Mandi Himachal Pradesh is inviting applications for MTech (Research), MTech (Research) + PhD (Dual Degree), and PhD Programs. The School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering (SMME) of IIT Mandi has announced the second round of the admission process in multiple disciplines under the Full-Time, Self-Sponsored, and Part-Time categories.

For PhD Admission

• Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology or equivalent with a valid GATE score are eligible.
• Candidates having a Master’s or equivalent degree in Science (or allied subjects) with a valid GATE score can apply.
• Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology or Master’s or equivalent degree in Science with a minimum of two years of experience in a reputed R&D Organization with a proven research record can apply.
• Candidates holding a BTech / BE / BS (or equivalent) degree from CFTI / any of the top 100 institutes according to NIRF ranking (overall category) at the time of application / any Himachal Pradesh Govt. institution or universities with a minimum of 7.5 CGPA or equivalent can apply.
• Candidates with a Master’s or equivalent degree in Engineering / Technology can also apply.

For MTech Admission

• Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology or equivalent with a valid GATE score.
• Candidates with a Master’s or equivalent degree in Science (or allied subjects) with a valid GATE score can also apply for the MTech (Research) program.
• Candidates holding a BTech / BE / BS (or equivalent) degree from CFTI / any of the top 100 institutes according to NIRF overall category ranking at the time of application / any Himachal Pradesh Govt. institution or universities with a minimum of 7.5 CGPA or equivalent are eligible.

For MTech PhD Dual Degree Admission

• Candidates having a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent with a valid GATE score are eligible.
• Candidates with a Master’s or equivalent degree in Science (or allied subjects) with a valid GATE score can apply.
• Candidates holding a BTech / BE / BS (or equivalent) degree from CFTI / any of the top 100 institutes according to NIRF overall category ranking at the time of application / any Himachal Pradesh Govt. institution or universities with a minimum of 7.5 CGPA or equivalent are eligible.

IIT Mandi Key Points for MTech and PhD Admission

• Candidates applying under the self-sponsored and part-time categories are exempted from the GATE / national-level exams. These candidates will not get scholarships during the program study from the institute.
• The first choice will be considered for processing the application, candidates must fill in the choice of discipline on the application portal accordingly.
• The Interviews of the shortlisted candidates will be conducted in hybrid mode.
• Candidates should submit separate applications for multiple disciplines/programs.
