- The campus life in our college is quite good. Our college is student friendly. All teaching and non teaching staff members are kind, cooperative and helpful. Overall,Our college has a good management system. Our college has big classrooms ( fully air- conditioned) , well equipped laboratories, the students can borrow three books from library , Career oriented add on course ( basic multimedia course such as graphic designing) The faculty in our college is good. we had got great teachers in our department rather ihad many friends too from different departments their professors are too amazing I heard from them . They are very knowledgeable,kind and helpful. Their teaching method is very effective and is beneficial for the students.
- The infrastructure in our college is quite good. There are big classrooms with fully air conditioned in it, our college has well equipped laboratories with air conditioned in it, well equipped library with huge varieties of books and comfortable desks. Our college canteen is a favourite passtime for students with loads of memories carrying there . It has comfortable benches and a many varieties of items included in menu .
Dislikes
- Our college campus area is not so big . Our college ground area is also not so big , many problems come while organising various functions in our college. Our college does not engage much in sports activities too.
- The placements in our college is quite average. Usually the students who are well deserving get job . Mostly students need to look off campus for placements and jobs. There are no hostel accommodation in our college.
Remarks :
I chose this college for the following reasons:- 1. Short- distance travel 2. Student- friendly college 3. Fully air- conditioned classrooms 4. Three books from library 5.well- equipped laboratories 6.career oriented add on course( Basic multimedia course such as graphic designing) The admission process of this college is very simple as compared to other colleges. One can apply online or direct admission is also available. There are no entrance exam . All depends on 12th marksheet and the cut off where it goes. If one does not meet this criteria then the entrance exam is conducted by college. I didn't had to give any entrance exam during my admission in this course. The cut- off usually changes every year. Overall our college surroundings is very beautiful but the ground is small and campus area too. There are no hostels.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose English Hons as I love literature and I had a keen interest of reading books. The faculty in our college is good. The professors in my department of English Hons are well qualified and are knowledgeable. They make teaching very easy to us. The lessons taught by them are being easily understood by the students. They are very kind and helpful. There are total six semesters including internals, viva and tutorial in each semester. Theory paper ( CU) is of 65 marks, internal carry 10 marks and tutorial including viva carry 15 marks. Attendance ( 10 marks). Only theory paper is conducted by Calcutta University and all other exams( internal tutorial) is conducted by college itself. Attendance too depends on college. Only for theory exam the candidates had to appear in different college which one gets in his admit card. Most probably our college sets internal papers quite easy as compared to other colleges.
Internships Opportunities :
I hadn't opted for any internship. The internship opportunities available in my college for my department ( BA English Hons) are as follows: 1. Vedanta foundation ( Job fair) Companies invited pantaloons, HDB ( financial services), Flipkart. 2. Rebel foods, the food- tech brand behind popular eating joints is hiring with a CTC of up to INR 20 lakhs + ESOP 3.EduBridge India (Walkin CSR clients like EXL, Capgemini, Accenture,Zs and many more) 4. 7 days free training program for placement
Placement Experience :
The placements in our college is average.Many big companies like Wipro, Tech Mahindra and many more come. Only well deserve students get placed in these companies with their consistency and hardwork. Normally, the students had to look off campus for jobs and placements. In our department we had got many job opportunities at the end of graduation like Teacher- internship programmes, the food tech brand companies 70 percent of the students get placed. The highest package was from Aditya Birla Health Insurance co.Ltd Job positions: Agency Manager,( sales) Expected CTC for freshers around: 2.75lacs and for experienced for about 1 to 2 yrs around 3.25lacs I'm looking forward for higher studies ( MA B.ed, M.phil, PHD) as well as in bank sectors too.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees of per semester are as follows:- Session fees : 4000 Tuition fees: 7000 There are total six semesters and the duration of BA English Hons course is of three years. The fees of per year in this course is 22000 rupees and the total fees ( full 3 years course) is 66000 rupees. The fees of B.com Hons and B.sc Hons and is almost same as that of B.A English Hons. The fees of B.A History Hons, political science Hons , Hindi Hons is same as that of B.A English Hons. General degree course fees ( such as B.A general, B.com general) is less as that of Hons course. The fees of BBA Hons is comparatively high as that of other Hons degree. The fees of B.sc computer science also is more as compared to other Hons degree. Smt. Bimala Shroff Scholarship for meritorious/needy people.
Campus Life :
The campus life in our college is quite good. Agrotsav is the main cultural fest which our college organise every year usually in the month of December where the students show their hidden talents by singing, dancing and various stage performances. Our college library is quite big with air conditioned. It has a huge varieties of books of all courses. Reading room facility is also there where the students can sit and read. The students can borrow three books from library . Many seminars and webinars are also being conducted by our college in Multipurpose hall where the huge crowd gather . Various competitions are also being held where multiple colleges under CU takes part in it such as quiz competitions, karate championship programmes and many tournaments too. There are common girls room too where different types of games are being played like carrom, ludo, table tennis and many more. Our college canteen is also the centre of attraction with variety of items included in it.
Hostel Facilities :
At present there are no hostel facilities in our college. The college is seeing forward to build hostel so that the students from different states and far away distance can comfortably live and study well.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

Placement Experience :
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
