I chose this college over the GGSIPU bcs Better faculty: minimum requirement to be a faculty is thapar is being having a PhD and the professor rank is provided only after years of experience. Better Almumni: Since this college had started back in 1956 so the college has network even better than NIT jalandhar and IIT ropar. Though being in patiala If the avg package of the college is competing with the avg package of IPU colleges in delhi, then definitely there is a good potential. Day by day thapar is loosing it's repo and is being compared to some newly opened Prvt engineering colleges and that is only because they are playing the same tactics as typical money looting colleges
Course curriculum is a bit easy and lineant in thapar so you get time to explore different things which is a great point if people wish to opt for opening a startup. As seniors say: If I regularly just make notes in all classes and revise them before the exam I'll be able to score 8.5+ CGPA
Because I am in my first year, so there are no internship opportunities for me but if you network well, there is definitely a place for you. Even companies visit the campus to provide internships and there is a full intership semester in 4th year.
Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET) offers strong placements, with over 350 recruiters, including Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Infosys, Deloitte, JP Morgan, TCS, and Tata Steel, offering 800-1000 positions annually. The highest package reaches ?50-55 LPA, while the average is ?8-10 LPA. Eligibility criteria include a minimum CGPA of 6, no backlogs, and relevant internships or certifications. TIET’s placement rate is around 90% for branches like CSE and ECE. Post-graduation, students either join reputed companies, pursue higher studies, or start entrepreneurial ventures.
Fee varies branch to branch. For my branch, fee per semester is 2,27,000 whereas for Computer related branches it is 2,97,000 which does not include hostel and food. Their are two types of scholarships, purely merit and other merit cum means which is provided only after First sem and based on JEE percentile. After that scholarship is provided on basis of CGPA of year. Admission fees is a one time payment of 30K.
There are many clubs due to high student intake and every month there is always something going on but the main fest is called saturnila which is held in winters usually after ESTs. THE LIBRARY IS MASSIVE, there are over 1lac+ books and journals in printed format and over 4lac+ in digital mode. The Library is truly an architectureal and engineering marvel. The sports facilities are top notch though there are some maintenance issues sometimes. The seniors are also very helpful and they have also created a website just to help out juniors with academic and contains notes, solts, etc.
Though I am a day scholar but I have also tried food in the mess. I would say quality is better than others. Taste wise some things are good but some things are pretty bad. There is a student body in each hostel and they can request for the menu change.
if you are above 6.0 cgpa and no reappears and backlogs your are eligible for 70 % of companies. recently TCS,AMAZON,COGNIZANT also came for placement highest is 51LPA,6LPA avg. 80% of each batch is placed.
To apply for placements in LPU you need to have 6+cgpa mostly. there no company as i know that went without recruiting any student. the highest was on campus was 51.03lakhs Microsoft and average was 5-6 lakhs. the students around 85 %will be placed .my plan was to do a decent job in any MNC.
Placement at CGC landran is decent around 70 to 80% student got placed based on your skills. The eligibility criteria usually includes minimum 60% marks with no active backlogs. Top recruiter companies includes TCS, Wipro, Infosys and Capgemini. The average package is around 3-4 lpa while highest package can go up to 10 to 12 lpa. Multiple offers are made every year across different domain.
I haven't done any intenship yet but Yes, internships are available at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Mohali. Companies include TCS, Infosys, startups. Roles: Web Dev, QA, Data Analyst. Stipend ?5k–15k. Tasks include coding, testing, and project work.
The eligibility for placement is no backlog or reappear and CGPA IS above is 6 and fresher they get placement for 6thsem based on the skills and knowledge of the student and they provide a salary of 3 to 12 lakhs per/ year and recently SPICEJET company give around 8 lakhs CTC for 5 to 8 students and my plans after competing the degree is to do higher education in design modeling.
As the course is designed for pharmaceutical industry so the companies like mankind, sunpharma, macloid, overseas etc. Are top recruiters. The average package is 3-3.5 lakh per annum and highest goes upto 4lpa. As after masters most of the students goes for higher studies and teaching so the placement rate is low.
Overall Placement rate is about 60 to 70 percent for every branches . Recruiters provided descent opportunites to the students. Above 7 CGPA students get eligible. Some recruiter are Infosys, TCS, wipro, Siemens etc
College doesn't keep any eligibility criteria for placement it depends on the company which came for recruitment and yea if you had scored around 8+ cgpa you are eligible for every company Regularly company which come for recruiting students are infosys, tcs ,jsw , cognizant, Capgemini,L&T,tata steel etc Average package is 4LPA and highest package is around 55 LPA Around 75-80 percent students get placed in the college Some of the branches like instrumentation and control engineering and mechanical engineering have around 98-100% placement in the previous year
Since the college comes under an institution it opens the gate for various company and even those which just require a graduation degree instead of a specific field. Cadila Lupin etc visits every year. Good 60 to 70 students gets placed.
The placement are good but there are a lot of criterias for the placement and the college faculties force us to take the placement in the development roles to show that the college has 100% placement. There are less companies for the consultancy or data based jobs. The college doesn't provide any on campus intership. They provide intership in the college Startups and they pay very very less and they exploit the interns as lot. I got only 500 rupees for doing 1 month internship and working 6 hours a week.
