- Infrastructure because if you are giving that much money, u are getting the best infrastructure
- Campus life is amazing, the campus is 300 acres, and it is beautiful
Dislikes
- Fees is very high so not everyone can afford it.
- Faculty teaching is a bit one dimensional.
Remarks :
Thapar has an amazing infrastructure and a great ROI because the average package in my course is 16 lacs per annum. One of the most reputed colleges in the country and also one of the oldest college as well. Bad aspect is the faculty, the faculty can be much better. Admission in this college is done through JEE score as well as boards score in PCM. Cutoffs are pretty high so the competition is there.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The infrastructure ie the labs, the library, the technology, in my course is top notch. The faculty on the other hand is not so good, we need to study a lot of the things on our own, teachers just teach us whatever is written in their ppt and thats it. Exams at thapar are moderate to difficult level.
Internships Opportunities :
A lot companies provide internships even as early as second year in college. Roles offered are software development intern, analyst, etc depends on the company. Stipend offered varies from 40000-175000 per month.
Placement Experience :
Most company’s criteria is above 6 CGPA to sit for the placement in that company, however internal CGPA cuts are there. Top recruiters are apple, microsoft, bain and co, google, goldman sachs, blackrock etc Highest package was around 1.2 cr and average package is 16 lacs for my course Around 88-90% students get placed in my branch.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The tuition fee per semester is around 3 lacs, hostel fee per semester is 60000, Mess fee is 30000 per semester. The fees for my personal course is the highest ie computer engineering, other courses such as mechanical or chemical have less fees. The scholarships are as follows Merit cum means (tuition fee concession), total family income<6lacs(free study), only girl child etc.
Campus Life :
The college life is amazing, the fest that happen are of the highest quality. Saturnalia is the biggest techno-cultural fest of north india conducted in the month of November. Library at thapar is one of the best in the world, 7th to be precise. Sports and extracurricular activities are given equal importance. The socities and clubs at thapar are pretty amazing and one should definitely join.
Hostel Facilities :
Food at mess is okayish, not so good not so bad. Menu changes every 15 days. Hostel are allotted on the basis of ur CGPA and branch, and its around 30000 per semester. If someone needs a PG, then there are a lot of options nearby, for example 22 number locality has a bunch of PG’s.

Placement Experience :
To apply for placements in LPU you need to have 6+cgpa mostly. there no company as i know that went without recruiting any student. the highest was on campus was 51.03lakhs Microsoft and average was 5-6 lakhs. the students around 85 %will be placed .my plan was to do a decent job in any MNC.
Life at cgc landran.
Placement Experience :
Placement at CGC landran is decent around 70 to 80% student got placed based on your skills. The eligibility criteria usually includes minimum 60% marks with no active backlogs. Top recruiter companies includes TCS, Wipro, Infosys and Capgemini. The average package is around 3-4 lpa while highest package can go up to 10 to 12 lpa. Multiple offers are made every year across different domain.

I haven't done any intenship yet but Yes, internships are available at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Mohali. Companies include TCS, Infosys, startups. Roles: Web Dev, QA, Data Analyst. Stipend ?5k–15k. Tasks include coding, testing, and project work.

Placement Experience :
The eligibility for placement is no backlog or reappear and CGPA IS above is 6 and fresher they get placement for 6thsem based on the skills and knowledge of the student and they provide a salary of 3 to 12 lakhs per/ year and recently SPICEJET company give around 8 lakhs CTC for 5 to 8 students and my plans after competing the degree is to do higher education in design modeling.

As the course is designed for pharmaceutical industry so the companies like mankind, sunpharma, macloid, overseas etc. Are top recruiters. The average package is 3-3.5 lakh per annum and highest goes upto 4lpa. As after masters most of the students goes for higher studies and teaching so the placement rate is low.

Overall Placement rate is about 60 to 70 percent for every branches . Recruiters provided descent opportunites to the students. Above 7 CGPA students get eligible. Some recruiter are Infosys, TCS, wipro, Siemens etc

College doesn't keep any eligibility criteria for placement it depends on the company which came for recruitment and yea if you had scored around 8+ cgpa you are eligible for every company Regularly company which come for recruiting students are infosys,tcs ,jsw , cognizant, Capgemini,L&T,tata steel etc Average package is 4LPA and highest package is around 55 LPA Around 75-80 percent students get placed in the college Some of the branches like instrumentation and control engineering and mechanical engineering have around 98-100% placement in the previous year

Since the college comes under an institution it opens the gate for various company and even those which just require a graduation degree instead of a specific field. Cadila Lupin etc visits every year. Good 60 to 70 students gets placed.

The placement are good but there are a lot of criterias for the placement and the college faculties force us to take the placement in the development roles to show that the college has 100% placement.There are less companies for the consultancy or data based jobs. The college doesn't provide any on campus intership. They provide intership in the college Startups and they pay very very less and they exploit the interns as lot. I got only 500 rupees for doing 1 month internship and working 6 hours a week.
