- The Campus is being too small, though considering the fact that its a British era College and we enjoy our time in the outskirts of the institution.
- No presence of the elected Students Union and the teachers have an overwhelming say over us
Remarks :
No written tests to be given to get admitted as it was the marks in +2 that was noticed. However, the main reason for joining such institution is because of its supportive and the oldest faculty of the state that helps the students for its all round development. However one bad aspect is the over emphasis on studying while there is no fests. However cut off for getting admission to such prestigious college which has its name in extra curricular and curricular activities is around 90%.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The reason to chose such course is for the non-partisan way of delivering knowledge that is helpful for the understanding of the present situations through our own thoughts. Here the faculty is the most supportive and oldest faculty that has helped. Teaching methods include both online and offline while all the exams are taken in the semester format.
Internships Opportunities :
No, I didn't opted for any internship during my days. However, we have an idea about how an archivist or museologist works to preserve the data, historical artifacts and others for future knowledge and reference purposes
Placement Experience :
Placement and job opportunities are available via the placement cell of the college where companies starting from established to start ups arrive for campus placements and the students decide to chose their career based on their skills. While many pursued their passions encouraged by the institution, some chose packages of TCS of ?40000 per month to make an earning. While many students went to the line of buisness, one may chose creative writing, translation skills and editing as it's career path with the help of history of course to succeed.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Year wise speaking, the fees was around ?12000+, however it was the hostel fees that was a bit high, around ,?40000+. However, the exams fees are always limited to around ?500 while the security deposit is around ?2000
Campus Life :
Unfortunately, the fest is not being held since 2019 due to a huge scandal by some goons in the ruling party. However, Caledonia had a reputation of being a famous one like the one in JU or Presidency. Now that the security is tightening than ever, such Intrusions are hardly taking place with the democratic sphere is being controlled by the students having a progressive ideologue. For such development, there is an abundant supply of books and journals in the library while the age old era of British Rooms are spacious with adequate lighting and facilities of fan and sanitation. Infact, various clubs like Drama, Debate, Literary, Quiz, Sports, Dance, Music and other groups show the presence of extra curricular activities being run by the students with the help of the teachers.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel mess has its fund provided by the superintendent while it's management is conducted by the students themselves. Presence of adequate washrooms, bathing area for hostels(Wann and Duff) and the facility of chilled water and it's coolers are helpful for the students. Residing in single rooms or in master rooms of 4/6/10 seater, the rooms are adequate enough to study and rest. The food being served is light in nature with sometimes "Grands" are organised in special occasions. If someone wants to rent a PG, there is bunch of such available in Manicktola, Bidhan Sarani, Vivekananda Road, Girish Park Metro Station and close to the vicinity of the institution.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
