Remarks :
The college location is kamarhati Which is between rathtala and sodepur Nearest railways is agar para station Nearest metro is baranagar From metro around 15 mins far in public transport Railway are 10 mins far Multiple restaurants are there in sodepur and around Transport is very good Enviornment is ok Inside the college is only hospital all OPDs , emergency room , wards , There are good number of medicine shops Retailers like Spencer are there in rathtala around 10 mins far from college Teacher are good Labs are ok These factors made me choose the college There was no test Admission was based on councelling rounds of state quota and all india quota (75 percent of seat (120)goes to state 15 percent to all india quota) All India quota required higher marks there was help desk for admission Average of recent trends for state quota avg of 640 and for all india quota avg of 660 out of 720 required in neet entrance examination
Course Curriculum Overview :
Course curriculum is based on NMC guidelines which is competency based Academic are ok 14 subjects distributed among 9 semesters and 4 years with 4 professional examination at year end to pass the year Faculty is preety good Sagore Dutta is famous for its ENT, surgery obs gyn and anatomy faculty Subjects in curriculum are anatomy, physiology zbiochemistry ,pathology microbiology, pharmacology, ophthalmology, ENT,community medicine, Forensics , surgery,medicine Obstetrics and gynaecology , paediatrics From second year onwards according to guidelines there will be clinic in wards to learn more about subjects history taking and physical examination of patients Lab assistant are very helpful in examination Administrative Faculty is ok not much cooperative at times
Internships Opportunities :
Intership is compulsory after 4.5 yrs of duration of 1 years as course is of 5.5 years In the intership you will asked to give service of different departments in college for a fixed duration and a monthly salary of 30,000 is given Normaly at medicine department you see patients and write prescription In surgery you help surgeons In ons gyn you delivers babies In community medicine there are field visits
Placement Experience :
After you do MBBS , you have multiple options From doing speciality of post graduation or diploma To housestaff which is available through interview and exam at diff hospital colleges and private too You can set up your own clinis and be a physician Clinis salary differs But a housestaff which is available for different courses and posts like medicine or obs gyn or paediatric ot emergency department Salary of 50 thousand is fixed in government college With private varying You can do UPSC CME which is a medical exam for medical students bt central exams My plan is to do a post graduation after cracking post graduation entrance test and achieving a good marks at entrance and taking medicine as post graduation and further opportunities and salary is there
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There are semester fees which is around 4200 , in year avg of 3 semester is there. The course is of 4.5 years with 1 years of compulsory intership through 4 years 9 semesters are there of 14 subjects (3+3+4+4) where in final year 4 subject of surgery, medicine, Obs gyn, paediatrics are there in 3 rd year there is ophthalmology, ENT, community medicine and Forensics.. in second year pathology, microbiology, pharmacology.. in first year anatomy, physiology, biochemistry You can opt out for different scholarships as given by government state or central.. Svmc ( swami vivekananda scholarship) Is applicable too submission of marksheet school certificate is necessary Fees are equal Hostel fees is given along with semester fees 3 Canteen is there Scholarships is applicable for all details at the website There are no other extra charges. Along with semesters there are year ending exam of respective year subjects passing is necessary to go to next year
Campus Life :
Life is campus is as you enjoy it There is a academic pressure in this course so you won't getting much times in higher years still we do enjoy it In a year there is fest called ASTERISKA annually it is helf for about 3 days with food in final days with artists and different bands comming competition like bgm cricket footbal is held with intercollege diff fest are held different time all students can participate in other colleges fests both academic one and artists and thier fest entrance price may differ, Around 4 to 5k is taken for this fest for the college students No other amount is taken apart from it .. out side college students diff charges applicable Also there is freshers each year given by the immediate batch seniors with choosing of mr and mrs freshers too Library is open from 9 am to 7pm multiple academic books are available only .Classroom are ok Two AC lecture halls rest non AC Most of time in your course there is practical and wards
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel was not available for me as I live around the college But as i know Rooms are ok Bathroom are not really good There are two persons at each room First year are usually give rooms a little bit late or asked to stay in dorm fulk of students in hostel building only Roof is not for students 2 Canteen is available Breakfast from 9 and lunch from 1 pm dinner is available from 7 pm Open uptil 10 Registation of hostel is by a form asked to fill at time of admission No extra hostel fees , taken along with semester fees with mere 50 rs Canteen food is ok with average of 70 rs for veg And 80 rs for non veg students Snacks like roll chowmin are available at evening Ice cream is there too Pg and room rent around the college is there agar para, Rathtala, belgharia are the places and rent varies with 1bhk room from 6k to 2 bhk room to 14 k Pg are available too there changes varies

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.

Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
