IIT Mandi - Where Nature Meets Tech

- The infrastructure here is literally commendable except hostels. All kind of labs are available and well maintained.
- You will never be sitting idle here. Soo much activities to do here.
Dislikes
- The one most disliked thing about of IIT Mandi is it's strict rules, which are indeed very strict so we need to be very careful.
- 80% attendance feels like a headache especially when you have to wake up in cold mornings to go to classes.
- To go from one class to other you will have to literally walk almost a kilometer and climb soo much.
Remarks :
The Major reason for me choosing IIT MANDI was my JEE ADVANCE Rank. Living my entire life in the pollution of Mumbai I found a great opportunity reside for four years amidst Himalayas. Although it is among Gen 2 IIT's but it is consistently among the top 5 in terms of placements. The location was one of the important factors for choosing IIT MANDI. If you ever feel low you can just take a walk in campus and it is all you will need to recharge. I had seen Campus photos and videos, it is much more breathtaking in real life. The Seniors here are super cool and very helpful. Trust me, you will be learning more from seniors than from classes.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The faculties here are very well qualified with some even having more than 1 PHD. They know what to teach and what they are teaching. The curriculum is up to date according to industry standards and it keeps updating. Although some teachers are not that good in delivering their subject but all the course notes are provided which if studied well, you can easily get good marks. Talking about Exams, there are two major exams in a semester, Mid- Semester and End- Semester. The level of exams is easy to medium depending on your level of study. If you have studied properly two weeks prior to exam then you can score well easily. For each course there are weekly quizzes for which just 30mins - 1hr study is more than enough to scire full.
Internships Opportunities :
Companies like Google, Adobe, Jaguar and Land Rover , Samsung, L&T, Hindustan Uniliver come here for internships. If you maintain a good CGPA then it is not at all hard to get an internship opportunity here.
Placement Experience :
The eligibility criteria for placements if 7+ CGPA, which is indeed not hard to get. About 200+ companies come here for placements, which are mostly tech oriented. It is not that core companies don't come, but they don't give those huge packages. Some of the companies that come here are Zomato, Nvidia, Flipkart, Google, Indian Oil etc.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees for first semester will be around 150000 rupees and next semester onward it will be 133000 rupees per semester. This fees is including hostel and mess charges. The mentioned fees are for a general category student. There are many scholarships available and they keep coming on regular basis. If you study well, score good in examinations then it is very easy to avail these scholarships.
Campus Life :
The clubs and fest are very important for any college and When it is an IIT, you know it is going to be great. Weather you are interested in Tech are in Cultural and Literary stuff, you will get a club for everything. The Clubs here are very active, Thanks to our seniors(we will continue that legacy). Talking about fest's, major attraction for any aspiring student, There are 3 major fest's annually and other fest keep taking place almost monthly. Ranneeti is our annual sports fest in which students from other colleges come to compete. It Generally takes place on October end or November beginning. XPECTO is our annual Tech fest and takes place at the end of March. Xpecto is the perfect display of talent of all our techies because of Robowars, Hackathons etc. Exodia is the annual Cultural and Literary fest where all the creative minds come up. Some things common to these fests is the DJ nights, Pronites, and concerts where artists like Akash Gupta, bands like Local Train come. #IIT MN
Hostel Facilities :
There is no specific thing such as applying for hostel as you automatically get it. The food quality keeps fluctuating. When you are new to college, you will be given good quality food but that quality gradually drops as the semester proceeds. It will be once again good when Mess option form is opened. Indeed you daily can't eat mess food so you will need to utilise the 5+ cafes of campus. The mess menu is that same old boring food like Gobi, mix veg, Pani Paneer etc. Hostel rooms are good enough to survive. If you get good CGPA then you get good room. Anyways you will be spending very much less time in room are there will be so much to do outside. There are mostly 4 sharing rooms and only some 2 or 3 sharing.

Placements are decent. Eligibility is typically at CGPA 6.0 or higher. Recruiters include TCS, Infosys ,Oracle, Wellsfargo etc.Highest package this year reached around 3 crores per annum as it was a foreign offer.

placement are good many cse students have package in crores i think cse nad ece branch is good but other branch package is around 10 lakh if i would suggest students i suggest go for cse or ece branch because in the era of artificial intelligence nad machine learning these two branches are booming and the package are also best in these branches you can also try for gate exam after the civil mechanical or electrical you can get jib in public plus private jobs

Exploring IIM Sirmaur - a student's honest opinion

The placement opportunities are given by institute. There is a placement committee. A few visited recruiters are ICICI,HDFC, DE Shaw, Deloitte, EY, etc. the average package of IIM sirmaur ranges around 14-15 LPA. All students get placed and is supported by institute.

I got this based my JEE advanced rank. The faculty student ratio, typically between 15:1 and 20:1, allows for personalized attention and interaction. Faculty are well qualified for the job and their teaching methods are very good. The exams have a typical timeline and they are quite challenging to pass.
