- I like the college infrastructure and facilities provided at hostels. The rooms ans the classrooms are well lighted and are spacious.
- I also like the environment and the fresh air flowing in the campus.
- I also like the lab facilities and faculty student interaction.
Dislikes
- We must maintain a strict discipline in college, as failing to do so can result in a fine.
- The 80% attendance rule sometimes becomes too furious.
Remarks :
Taking admission in this college requires cracking JEE Mains and JEE Advanced both. The reason of choosing this college is its truly beautiful environment. Also here I was getting a good branch according to my rank in Jee Advanced. And also I have seen its ratings and reviews in several websites. And after all it is a Central Government College which is indeed a great thing.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I have got the course according to the rank in JEE Advanced. In IIT Mandi no doubt they try to provide the best quality education they can. They focus on learning by doing so have lots of practicals. They have certain special courses like Design Practicum which I feel helps students in proper understanding. Generally here is a 4 to 5 months semester. In which we have 1 midterm exam and one end-term exam. The difficulty level varies according to professors. Some also take surprise quiz in between for proper understanding.
Internships Opportunities :
In our college it is mandatory for everyone to complete a good internship and show its certificate or else he/she will not get his degree. Generally fewer company comes in-campus for internship interviews so many go for off-campus internships. They easily get permission and off from the college and gets some credits in the missing period of college for completing their internship.
Placement Experience :
There is no as such eligibility criterion for sitting in placements. But you must get a good cgpa preferably above 8 for a higher chance of getting shortlisted by companies. Some of top visited recruiters are Infosys, Microsoft, Amazon, HCL, TCS etc. According to data of 2024 highest package offered was 52lakhs and average was 22lakhs. with about 72% placement ration. I have planned to sit in interviews and get a good package in the in-campus placements

Campus Life :
Sports fest: Raneeti Generally in November Technical fest: Xpecto generally in march Cultural fest: Exodia generally in April IIT Mandi conducts a sports ,technical and cultural fests welcoming many other colleges to participate in-campus. IIT Mandi has 3 libraries with rich collection of books and journals. Also the classrooms are well furnished with projectors and benches. There are several active clubs in campus like E-cell, Kamand prompt(Programming club), Nirmann club, Space and Astronomy club and lots more. There are also several projects like Mars Rover, Supra(Car) etc. going on which is really exciting.
Hostel Facilities :
The food quality is quite good and mess menu is also carefully designed. There is no as such requirement of registering for hostels. Every student in our college resides in campus hostel only. There is no other choice. The hostels are affordable and have nice rooms. They have provided us with washing machines, ovens, irons etc in almost all hostels.
