- It’s near the river so ,scenic beauty is a plus point
- In physics department faculty is mostly good,can’t say anything about another departments
Dislikes
- I dislike harsh rule imposed by new director’senate .in Modi’s government fund for theoretical research have diminished,it’s getting hard to survive and do research in theoretical physics with bare minimum funds
- Campus life is boring not that much activities are going on.
Remarks :
It’s premier institute , after clearing Jam exam one can join for msc ventures also at my time there was a internal exam of iit mandi equivalent to jrf exam for Iphd admission in physics,also then there is a mock interview which will be deciding factor for admission
Course Curriculum Overview :
I am doing phd in physics so it’s good in my department as faculty are mostly from premier institutes ,soft condensed matter physics is strong arm of iit mandi physics department,I work in soft condensed matter physics where we do molecular dynamic simulation to study various different scenarios.
Internships Opportunities :
No I never opted for internship as I am regular phd student working in theoretical physics it seemd that it wasn’t a that kind of required.i attended stat school in Raman reseat institute for 15 days.
Placement Experience :
As phd student i dont have much experience on this,but earlier when older director or other government congress was there it was healthy.after corona there is a big downfall in placements of all kinds
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Hostel fees and institute fees are paid per semester.institute fees is around 10000rs per semester and hostel fees is 40000 rs per semester but it varies with every course ,some courses are costlier than mine I think all are costlier phd has least fee structure but that also get upto 1 lakh for 1 year .
Campus Life :
Not that interesting it’s kinda boring , after Modi government or after our new director appointment there’s not much happening in campus only srudies are being promoted to the highest level all other extra curricular activities have disappeared in last 3 years
Hostel Facilities :
You are assigned a hostel when you roll into any course and fees is to be paid by Samarth portal . So it will be given on automatic basis when you join any program in iit mandi but you can see the details via Samarth portal and easily change swap your room based on your needs,leaving hostel can be a hassle as you need your faculty advisor sign and a good reason for that .

Placements are decent. Eligibility is typically at CGPA 6.0 or higher. Recruiters include TCS, Infosys ,Oracle, Wellsfargo etc.Highest package this year reached around 3 crores per annum as it was a foreign offer.

I choose ba as I needed a bachelors degree to pursue llb . All the faculty members are highly qualified and well educated and every teacher has their own teaching method. The exams are conducted annually for BA which is not very difficult

placement are good many cse students have package in crores i think cse nad ece branch is good but other branch package is around 10 lakh if i would suggest students i suggest go for cse or ece branch because in the era of artificial intelligence nad machine learning these two branches are booming and the package are also best in these branches you can also try for gate exam after the civil mechanical or electrical you can get jib in public plus private jobs

The placement opportunities are given by institute. There is a placement committee. A few visited recruiters are ICICI,HDFC, DE Shaw, Deloitte, EY, etc. the average package of IIM sirmaur ranges around 14-15 LPA. All students get placed and is supported by institute.
