I choses this college because I really heard great things about this college and the very most important factor was it's a girls college, so my family was a really impressed with it. That time I heard it has hostel facility also but it doesn't. It claimed alot more things like great infrastructure but actually they do not have such things. Moreover it was near to metro station and bus stop, so it was very convenient for transportation and traveling. The it has morning classes which was suitable for me as my whole day won't go just doing classes. There were not tests or interviews. It was completely based on the 12th marks.
There is very limited options for courses. There's only 2 honours subject for bcom financial accounting and marketing. Worst part is as the collges is so small that for different subjects they provide completely different timings for financial accounting it's morning and for marketing it's evening shift. This is really irritating cause I really wished to opt for marketing but the timing was not suitable for me. Faculties are good. They do teach properly but not every faculty. They used to conduct internals and then semester examination which was conducted by the Calcutta University.
The colleges does not provide any internship opportunities. Theres no compulsion for doing internships for grades, so that's a bad part cause if trigger the willingness for doing an internship I feel. If you don't put a bit of strict culture, students will definitely enjoy and pass there time that's ultimately gonna cost them. They should prepare the students for upcoming scenario and circumstances of corporate world. Even if any Internships had come they were in office and provided around 3-4k/month
Placement and job opportunities are very limited. There were good companies like big 4 which is Deloitte, EY. But they choose the cream layer of the batch. Other than that mostly there were only sales job. They was around 18-22k month. Most if the companies preferred CA CS students and the students with no backlogs. The highest package was was 10LPA of Bhanzu and average was 2.5LPA only. Our batch strength was around 1500 and around 200 students got placed. I got placed in Vedic Vidya for 3LPA but due to circumstances I had to resign.
So basically there are 2 semesters per year. It costed around 25-26k/ semester which can be paid online , cash or through bank drafts. Moreover we had to pay examination fees which was around 500-600rs something/ semester. Which is cheaper than other colleges. So in overall if you are able to go regularly in college then it's quite worth it but if u just want graduation and apart from it you are into any professional courses like CA CS, you can go for govt. colleges which are like 2-3k/ semester. So it works great then.
To be honest the campus life was very bad for me. There were no fest during my entire college life span of 3years. The library was good but there was a problem that if you borrow a book the free time period was just for 10 days, after that they used to charge for each day. They charged 1rs/day/book. Whereas other colleges give a time period of a month. So it was a bit difficult to reissue the book on time. Moreover you can't reissue a book twice straight. It has to be kept in library for a day atleast. So we had to choose the pay option. There were extracurricular activities but there was also politics. Like they prefer bengali girls. There were different clubs but none of th worked properly. They were just couple of events just for sake of the name.
There is no hostel facility. It's only for classes n other activities. They do not provide hostels. So I had to stay in a PG was a bit far from my college. So had to walk around half a mile. There were other PGs also which were near the college but they were too expensive. Like 17-18k/month, whereas mine was 10k/month. So I'm sharing my accommodation fees including Ac bills. The location was a bit far but the area was very good. Like everything was available in just walking distance. Moreover it was completely a students atea. I stayed in Bhawanipore near northern park so it was great.
Placement is I do not say that is very good but I would say that treatment is almost okay and that's up to you and lot of MNC companies came in our College group. There are internship opportunities industrial training like Euphoria ardent like this MNC and ideas
In this college we have five departments, civil, computer science, mechanical, electrical and mechanical respectively and the stops are very good and the faculties are highly qualified and they are about almost everyone is iitiab
Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies
Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.
Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
