Likes
- The classrooms are always clean. You'll get ACs in the summer. The rooms are spacious and well ventilated.
- Though we do not get to access the ground until it's past 3pm but it is beautifully designed. There's also a place to sit and practice if needed and it's filled with flower pots and beautiful paintings.
Dislikes
- The bathrooms. They are absolutely horrible. Always dirty and disgusting. Also there's no jet spray present in any of the cubicles.
- The worst part about this college is NO ANNUAL FEST/CONCERT.
Remarks :
I chose this college because it is quite a renowned one in Kolkata , especially in terms of English honours. Also the alumni is great. This college also offers Masters for English. There was no Written Tests, GD or PI. Admission was merit based.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course as I love literature. Simple as that. The faculty of this department is very qualified and helpful. Though classes get suspended without notice sometimes but when they do take place it's always the best experience. Coming to the exams, they are not the toughest if you prepare well and are attentive in class. However end sem exams are obviously very tough.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees structure followed in this college is semester wise. It does increase every semester but nothing drastic. Expect an increase of 1-2k for every semester I suppose. There's no extra charges for English Department as we do not have practical or such things. A friend of mine from the JMC department does pay extra fees for Practicals,lab etc. I have no idea about any reservation benefits as I'm from the UR category.
Campus Life :
The biggest con of this college is there's no campus life. The ground and everything that you see in photos belong to the school till 3pm. You can get access only after 3pm. Also there's NO FEST in this college. Not even a concert. This is the most saddening part. Though clubs are present but groupism is a problem that I've heard from my fellows. The students of this college go to various fests (of other colleges) and win prizes there but the irony is our own college conducts nothing of this sort.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

Placement Experience :
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
