- College life is quite flexible, as our hod is supportive and allows students to pursue internship from home. It is not mandatory for student to be on campus if they were working as interns. Additionally, the faculty is encouraging and supporting of students who demonstrate strong eagerness to learn and grow professionally
- One of the highlight of my college experience is annual feast, fest inhabits. It's held between November and January and is most exciting event of the year. During this time, the college invisible in making the first memorable, inviting high profile celebrities for performance and promotions. The entire campus comes alive, and it's the one occasion that draws students together, creating a vibrant and unforgeable atmosphere.
Dislikes
- Lack of extracurricular activities: one major drawback is the lack of extracurricular activity especially in areas like coding and technical skill building. As a CSC student, I would have appreciated more coding contest or take related events, but these opportunities are limited and rarely organized.
- Faculty standards: another concern is that the faculty does not always meet the standard expected in an engineering college. While some teachers are knowledgeable, may lack the depth and expertise needed to fully support students academic growth in competitive field like engineering.
Remarks :
I come from a middle class family, and my family is not in a good economic condition to bear a large financial burden. I choose this college because it is more affordable compared to other institutions. For admission there were no written tests or interviews; the only requirement was to appear for WPJEE or JEE Main
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is not up to par, as most teachers do not meet the expected standard of engineering college faculty, although there are few exceptions. Additionally there are no extra curriculum activities being organized. For example as a CSC student there was only one coding content held throughout my entire four year journey. Moreover while the younger junior teachers seems enthusiastic, their knowledge is often limited
Internships Opportunities :
With the college limited support in securing internship, student rarely got internship opportunity directly through the institution. As a result they often have to rely on platform like Internshala, Glassdoor, Indeed and LinkedIn, which is not an encouraging sign for students hoping for more direct assistance from their college.
Placement Experience :
Previously, the placement scenarios was not very promising, but it has been gradually improving overtime. My plan is to take advantage of any opportunities that arrive through on campus placement; However, my main focus is on off campus opportunities drop the average package offer is around 3 LPA, with the highest package reaching up to 9 LPA.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The total fee structure for the branch was ?220,000 in 2021. I received the SVMCM scholarship of 60,000 of maintaining marks above 60% throughout the year. currently the total fees has increased to approximately 450,000 and it is expected to rise further in the future. Additionally, they recently started offering student a laptop as a part of the fee package
Campus Life :
The fest, called Festin-o-Beats, is held between November and January. It is only time of the year when student actively came to college, as the college invest heavily in it, often inviting high profile celebrities for promotions. The library has a wide collection of books but the classroom are not well maintained. When i was in first year, there are some emphasis on sports, with an annual sports; However, apart from 1 cricket tournament throughout the year, no other sports even organized. Additionally there are no active social groups. Although there was a coding glove, it has become almost inactive due to lack of proper guidance.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
