- Campus life is very good. There's a gym which has hourly access for boys and girls.
- Hostel was the best part of my college experience tbh. My seniors taught me so much of the architectural softwares. That was a major point in scoring a good internship
Dislikes
- Some of the faculty are strict and biased.
- In all other architecture colleges, the 9th semester result is based on the internship experience gained by the students by a grade card graded by seniors at your internship office. However in our college we need to submit a portfolio of our internship works to our teachers who in a 30 minutes jury session will decide our skills based on that portfolio. I think its completely unfair to judge a student's 6 months worth of work in a 30 min session. That privilege should be given to the office boss, not college professors.
Remarks :
No interviews as such for getting an admission. You need a valid NATA score for getting admission in BArch. Along with NATA, another qualifying exam is preferred such as JEE MAINS paper 2 or Wbjee. The good aspects of the college are definitely the course curriculum.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The technical aspects of architecture are taught with utmost importance. Most of the faculty are very strict. Also one major thing is that every year 5-10 students get a year lag from each batch. Students need to be very careful with their submission deadlines.
Internships Opportunities :
6 month Internship is mandated by college. Stipend is as per the firm you join. Most firms offer a stipend of 6000-10000 per month. Most of your industry level skills will be gained at this internship. Final yr internship and thesis define your skills. Do them well.
Placement Experience :
So the 9th sem is internship. Our hod sir has a lot of contacts and provides a list with names of students and the firms where they should apply for internship. In case the firm does not respond to your application or rejects it, HoD sir sets up an internship for you at one of his known firms. After 6 months internship, 10th sem is thesis. Then after thesis, you are on your own for jobs. No placements are provided. If you work well at your intern office, they will absorb you. Or you can apply elsewhere as per your skills and software Knowledge.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
No scholarship was offered. No scholarship tests were taken even when the website mentions otherwise. On an average tuition fees is 42k per semester. People staying in and around kolkata can avail the college bus for 15k per semester. Hostel fees was 36k per semester, however it has become 42k per semester from the last year or so.
Campus Life :
The hostel is also a major positive. Mess food is fairly good as well. Non veg is included in the meal plan for hostelites. We used to get a non veg meal 5/6 days a week. Hostel seniors are the best part as i have previously mentioned.

Placement Experience :
Placements are not being offered from our college solely. But internship is being offered in the last 6 months mandatory for the completion of the four year course. The placement thing is solely on you like how capable are you to get into one hospital. But this college has nothing to do with it.

One should not be have any backlogs to sit for campus placements and should keep a decent GPA as many companies puts a cut off GPA. Placements are very decent and almost 70 percentage gets placed many of the others gets into higher studies

Cognizant - 12 , TCS - 4, Bavistech - 8, Utah Tech Labs - 15. Highest - 9 LPA , Average - 3.5 LPA Around 30% student got placed. I got placed and after getting degree i will join that compnay.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure

Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects.
